Cooking Thursday

I recently found this recipe that tastes like chicken pot pie, but looks prettier.  We all liked it!

Chicken Pot Pie Crescent Braid

1 can Pillsbury Recipe Creations (if not available, you can use crescent rolls and press the perforations out.)
1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup frozen peas and carrots
1/2 cup cream of chicken condensed soup
4 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine the frozen veggies, cheddar cheese, and chicken. In a separate bowl mix together the cream cheese and the condensed soup. Add it to the chicken-veggie mixture.
Spread the crescent roll dough out on parchment paper and place that on a baking pan. Leaving three inches in the middle, make cuts down the side of the dough an inch apart on both sides.
Spread the chicken-veggie-soup mixture down the middle of the dough. Take a strip of dough from one side and fold it over the middle mixture. Then take a strip from the other side and fold it over the middle. Continue down the dough, alternating sides until it is completely folded over.
Pinch the ends of the dough to keep the filling inside while it bakes.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes so that the top is nice and golden brown.
 Let stand about 10 minutes before cutting into it.

Ruby!

Last week I took some pictures of Ruby and told you I would share them.  We had a hard time with her.  She was awake and not very cooperative, so there aren't too many.  Here's what I have to share.

 

This first picture is for Lauren of Sola Scriptura.  She sent this beautiful heirloom baby bonnet for Ruby.  As you can see, she has a little growing to do before she fits into it, but it is really beautiful!

A day in my life

I can't believe it's the 1st of December already! 
I'm continuing my tradition of sharing my 1st day of the month with you.  I think today is a little boring.  It was a work day, and no other activities, but it is what it is!
Here's my December 1:

 I get up a little after 5 in the morning.

 It was really cold here this morning - 24.6 degrees when I left the house.

 I can't really take pictures at work because of privacy issues.  Here's one of our tv area.  You can see the tree in the background.  They were starting to put up the Christmas decorations today.   It was quite a busy day, with not much time to think about taking pictures anyway.
One of my favorite guys there gave me a laugh today.  He is a little confused and legally blind, but know my voice and remembers my name. When I talked to him this morning, he told me he was unhappy with me last night.  He said I left him in the basement.  (There is no basement).  He said he was calling for me and they told him I went home.  I asked if we were still friends and he said we were but "not as thick as we used to be".  Later in the day he told me he forgave me.  I'm hoping he isn't looking for me again tonight.  I love my residents!

Tonight, Heather and I started working on wedding invitations.  They need to be cut and assembled.  We got a lot of the cutting done, so we can have an assembly night to put them together soon.  One more thing to cross off the list!
It's gotten cold again tonight - right now it's 17 degrees, but at least there is no snow coming down!
That's my day.  It's going to be a busy week.  We have to go and taste test tomorrow evening for the wedding food, and we have parties on Friday and Saturday.
