Happy Fourth of July!

I thought this was a good shot to share for the Fourth. It's painted on a small barn not too far from my house. These people are patriotic!
Although I'm not happy about many things happening in our country, I'm thankful to live in the USA!

Bagger Daves review and giveaway

We had a new restaurant open fairly near us recently. We talked about trying it out, but busy schedules stopped us. However when our friends Mike and Diane mentioned on Facebook that they had enjoyed eating there, we planned a visit.

The restaurant is Bagger Dave's. Their slogan mentions their legendary burgers, so we both planned to have that, although there are other sandwiches and salads on the menu, and I hear they also have phenomenal chili.
Bob is a fan of hamburgers with BBQ sauce, so when he saw they had a Bacon Barbeque burger he knew what he wanted. They have something called "Build your own legend". You can choose the type of bun, type of burger and any toppings you want. I took this option, choosing a white bun, beef burger with bacon and swiss cheese.

Here's my burger - doesn't it look good? I can assure you, it was! The meat was juicy and cooked just right. I was glad it was in the bag, because it could have been messy.
Bob said his BBQ burger was perfect too.

Along with our burgers we had fries. These were not your everyday fries. The menu calls them "Fresh Cut Potato Fries with sea salt". We both decided they were among the best fries we ever had. I usually dip my fries in catsup, but these were too good for that.
The portions were very generous. I couldn't eat my whole burger and only had half of my fries, but not for lack of trying.

We noticed another thing on the menu that sounded wonderful, but we were too full to eat anything else. We'll have to go back another time for the hand dipped shakes and malts - made the old fashioned way!

That's a happy man!
Our food was wonderful, and brought to us in a timely manner, we had a very friendly and proficient waitress and there is no doubt that we'll be going back.
Thanks to the people at the Bagger Dave's in Grandville, I am able to offer you a gift certificate so you can try out this deliciousness on your own.
The gift certificate is for $25, and I will mail it to the winner.
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me if you have ever been to a Bagger Dave's before. Be sure you leave me a way to get in contact with you if your name is drawn.
The winner will be posted next Tuesday.

Alaina at 8 months

We are blessed that Laura and Aaron live close to us, and we're so thankful that we get to have Alaina stay with us on a regular basis. She stayed with us this weekend and as usual, we really enjoyed our time with her.

She is now 8 months old, growing fast and changing all the time!

She is now crawling, standing up and figuring how to get into all sorts of mischief! One thing that hasn't changed is her ability to wrap Bob around her little finger!

All that playing tires a person out, and Aunt Heather is always ready to snuggle.

Here she is, getting in a little play time before church on Sunday morning.

Alaina looked so cute in her little dress, that I took her into the backyard for some pictures after church. However, she won't sit still so the photo op ended quickly. :)

She is such a joy!
