I love you this much!

My friend Shelly from Dance like Nobody's Watching gave me this great award last week. Isn't it a cute one? I've known Shelly for quite a few years and always enjoy spending time with her. She goes to my church and just today was hired to work where I do. I'm looking forward to it - she's as fun in real life as she is on her blog! Thanks and I love you too, Shelly!

Lilacs

I have always loved lilacs. When I was young we had a large lilac bush outside the window by our dining room table. I remember my Mom opening the window in the spring and the wonderful smell drifting in through the window. Mom would often cut bouquets and send them along with us to my teachers when I was young. When we were first married, we had a row of lilacs along our driveway, so again I had plenty of lilacs in the spring. When we moved here - there were none. We planted a bush in the back but it has taken a long time to get to the point of having enough blooms to pick.
A few years ago, we redid the landscaping in the front of our house. We added a dwarf lilac and I love it. It stays compact but gives us lots of flowers every spring. It has the same scent as the regular bush.

Here's a closeup. Hummingbirds love them too.
They are another one of God's gifts to us!
