Welcome Spring!

The first day of Spring didn't really look very springlike here...
Here's the view of our back yard.  There's still snow out there, but it's really gone down!

As I was taking that picture, I noticed this robin, hopping along the path Bob shovels to his woodshop.  That's a good sign of Spring!

I had the day off work, however, Bob was home too.  He got the flu that I had earlier in the week.  While he slept on the couch, I decided to get winter out of the house, and make it look a little Springish!

This old milk can is from my Dad's farm.  When he quit farming, I got this can, cleaned it up and painted it.  I have different signs for different seasons.  It was time for the Snowman to be put away, and the flowery welcome to come out.  While I was at it, I cleaned the dust of the season off the can.

This centerpiece on my kitchen table is another thing that changes quite a few times a year.
I took out the snow and holly leaves...

and added moss, rocks and a few Spring flowers.
I also did some cleaning of light fixtures, washed some curtains, put away some blankets...

My house is now ready for Spring, it won't be long till it starts looking like it outside too!

I love your changes for Spring and I love seeing the robins!
Hope you both are on the mend now.

It's great what you did to change for the season. Having some green and flowers always 'perks' up not only the interior but your mood too.

Yes, the robins are always a good sign! They leave Florida and head home...

Love the milkcan and that you change it for the seasons! The same for your little centerpiece.

Please don't talk about washing curtains and spring cleaning! I got some of that done when we painted two rooms last month, but still have more to do, and am just not ready yet! ;)

Mari,
Seeing what you folks back east have had to deal with this winter makes me feel guilty for living in Northern Calif.

Good for you for having such a positive outlook and for getting a jump on spring. Hope your husband is better soon, too.

Meanwhile, we have the "big drought" issue out here, and as I am planting my spring flowers, I am also wondering whether we will be allowed to water them this summer. Oh, well... we live, and plant in hope. Right? :)
Blessings to you - Marsha

We hope that Bob is better today. Nothing like starting out spring with the flu. :(

I like your spring touches! I have been trying to do the same. Even though we are getting more snow tonight and tomorrow, putting out a little spring flowers gives us hope, right?

Happy spring!

I'm under my heated blanket as I type. It's not going away until I'm sure the temps are staying up :)

Such a pretty centerpiece and as always love the burlap runner. I know you are sooo ready for Spring. It is cool here but definitely Spring. I hope to have my baby girl soon so I may be taking a break from blogging in a week or so. Don't want to lose you.
