Look at that sad face! I bet you'd feel sad with wild hair like that too.
I combed it all back and put it in ponytails, which looked quite adorable, although they don't show up too well in the next picture.
I told her that her hair was pretty, and then started to get ready myself. My hair wasn't cooperating at all and I told Alaina that Grandma was having a bad hair day. She responded with "Grandma ponies?" Somehow, I don't think I would look nearly as cute as she does with ponytails.
Bob, Heather and I all have a water bottle that we keep in the refrigerator. When Alaina is here, I put one in for her too. Whenever she gets a drink from hers, she also gets out the water bottles for whoever is home and brings them to us, so we can have a drink too.
Last time she was here, she had dry lips. She wanted Bob's lip balm. After he put some on her, she said "Grandma too?" So I pretended to put some on. Then she said "Oliver too?" Bob said no to that one. He's not nearly as good at sharing, at least not with the cat.
She has reached the age where she likes to do things for herself. Laura had taken her outside to play in the snow. When they came in, of course she had to take her coat and mittens off by herself. Laura saw her struggling to get her coat off, then heard her mumbling "problems, issues" to herself. When Laura asked if she was having problems, she said yes, and let Laura help her.
Where does she come up with this stuff?
It's no wonder we love to have her over and spend time with her!

I am giggling. Such a darling there! Cute as a button and soooo smart too! Love the "issues/problems." Too funny. She's be a cutie patootie with her hair all over her head. Just a darling. This made me smile.
From serious to joyful, and how sweet she shares by offering water and lip balm to one and all.
I love the comment "problems, issues" too cute!
You have such sweet stories!! I love that first photo! She sure is precious.
So adorable! :>)
Cute as button. She prob overheard adults mumbling, like I tell my husband..becareful what you say..because little ears are listening..ain't that the truth..lol
Problems, issues ... I feel her pain. And Alaina need never worry about a bad hair day. She'd be the cutest kid in town even bald. xoxo
I just can't help it....one word....
ADORABLE!!!!!!!
There is never a dull moment with these little ones. She is so cute!
So adorable!
What a cutie she is. I miss those days.
Alaina is a doll and I love hearing about her. So cute about chapstick for the cat! My sis has a 4 yr old granddaughter who recently said her sister's wart was "disturbing!" I am with you, where do they learn these words!!!
I remember when I married I had my hair in a French twist. When I took it down, it stayed put!!!!!
So cute that she wanted you to have ponies too!
Mari, she is absolutely adorable!! What a cute face - who cares about bad hair days!!
What a sweet little girl. It sounds like she is talking a lot now! I'm sure the cat would have loved lip balm from her, he's so tolerant of his Alaina. :)
I love hearing your Alaina stories! She is getting a huge vocabulary! She is so cute trying to share with all of you. No wonder you love having her around.
So FUN!!! Yes, she does have a big vocab! Love that morning hair!
What a joy! I am sure she brings lots of laughs to you!
I laughed right out loud thinking of you in matching ponies! She would love it.
When I bought her her very own chapstick (for obvious reasons...) the first thing she did was jam it in Sofie's lips to share with her.
