Testing Pinterest

I don't know about you, but I seem to do just a few dishes quite frequently.  I like to have my dish soap handy, but I hate seeing that ugly bottle sitting out.
I saw an idea on Pinterest that suggested putting your soap in an olive oil dispenser, and then letting it sit out.  You can find them in many shapes and sizes.  I found this clear glass one with a raised design on the outside and I think it looks pretty sitting there
The only problem I've found is the opening is smaller, so the soap comes out slowly.  However, I think I probably used to much soap when I used to just dump it in, so even that isn't all bad!

My last visit to my youngest sister's house found these bottles in her bathrooms, for liquid hand soap, AND also in her kitchen with the dish washing soap. I found the same thing, though, that the opening was small and the soap flowed very slowly. As you said, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. They really look nice sitting on the counters.

Well, aren't you clever? Pretty bottle, and a nice idea.

I used that kind of bottle for years. Looks nice there..sometimes if you pour the soap out at an angle it goes faster..depends on the soap. Slow is good too I think, most of us use way too much anyway. Have a cool day today it's gonna be a hot one!

I've been using a hand lotion bottle but I like the idea of the kind of bottle you are using. Looks more "high-end" I believe.

It does look pretty! I just keep my Ajax Grapefruit dishsoap that I'm stuck on under the sink, so I think I'll stick with that.

A very neat idea and yours looks nice. But, I guess I am a slob, cause I have long since quit worrying about the Joy bottle sitting out...lol

I love Pinterest! They have a soap dispenser made from and old mason jar that I liked so much I had my father in law make one for me. I love to see it sitting on the side of my sink. And it holds plenty of soap!

I've used a bathroom pump dispenser in the kitchen with dish soap but like this idea much better!

These days, conserving everything we buy and use makes sense. So if it comes out slowly, it's a good thing. MHO.

I LOVE this idea and will use it as soon as I find a pretty bottle. Good share. Thanks!!

Very pretty! I use this idea, too, and have gotten used to using less soap now.

Girl I'm way ahead of you, in fact I did this once and then un-did it -- can't remember why. So a few weeks ago I bought a second olive oil bottle and filled it up. The soap ekes out SO SLOWLY that now I just jerk the top off and pour it out, LOLOLOL! Erica asked me what was I thinking when I did that, and I had nothing to say for myself at all. But I didn't get the idea on Pinterest; I saw it at someone's house. They likely got it from Pinterest.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not on Pinterest so I wouldn't have seen this. I like this idea and am going to try it. I have the bottle sitting empty on my baker's rack. I keep the ugly bottles under the sick but am going to give this a try.

I just make sure I use red dish soap (Palmolive Fresh Sponge) that matches my kitchen, so it doesn't bother me sitting out. But that fancy bottle does look nicer.
