Aren't these cute cakes? These cakes were at an open house thanking the staff at the Nursing Home where I work.
The open house was held because of a prestigious award we won.
We won the Silver Award from the American Health Care Association. Here's what the web site says about this award:
Silver – Achievement in Quality applicants demonstrate a level of achievement in their quality journey through good performance outcomes that have evolved from how they embrace the core values and concepts of visionary leadership, focus on the future, resident-focused excellence, management by innovation, and focus on results and creating value.
Last year our facility won the Bronze and we are thrilled to move up to Silver. There were only 52 facilities in the country that received this award. Our Administrator and Director of Nursing will be going to a ceremony in Las Vegas to accept the award.
This will be followed by news releases and more open houses for staff, residents and family members.
We are a small nursing home - only 60 beds, which I think is a plus, because every staff member knows every resident and their families too. We have lots of wonderful, long term staff that really love our residents and it shows in the care they receive.
It's nice to have that care recognized.

Congratulations, to you Mari and all your fellow staff members. I know about all the hard work that goes into achieving such recognition. It's esp. wonderful when truly dedicated folks who honestly and deeply care for the residents (or in my case, students) are recognized. Those are darling cakes! Yummy!:>)
What could show appreciation more then a chocolate AND white cake?! Congratulations, this is an honor to be highly proud of. What peace the families of those in your facility must have, knowing the good care they are receiving.

¡Felicitaciones! That's very cool :) How fun to be part of an organization that is making a difference in the lives of people. Being recognized for that is icing on the cake!
I can attest to how important staff are for nursing home facilities. My in-laws are at a really good retirement center in Indiana, and the staff makes all the difference! Many of them go above and beyond their job descriptions.
So congratulations on a job well done!
Congratulations! In such a small facility I am sure every employee shares a huge part in the success of all that's accomplished. They are so fortunate to have you, Mari. Now I wish I had one of those cakes. ;-)
