Do you ever find yourself with a dishwasher that needs to be run, but it's not really full? I hate to waste that space!
When that happens to me, I have a few things I regularly run through the dishwasher.
One is the glass tray in the microwave. While it's being cleaned, I spray the interior of the microwave, for an easy clean up.
Also - did you know that the grates, from a gas stove can go through the dishwasher? They can get so messy, and this is an easy way to clean them up.
What about that glass that sits in your bathroom? It needs a regular run through the wash too.
I also have a vase with dry branches in my dining room. From time to time, I fill a dishwasher spot with it.

These are great ideas! I do that too ... so many things can benefit from a splish-splash in the dishwasher. If I could, I'd put my whole kitchen floor in there.

Wonderful ideas! Thank you. I've done the cups from the bathrooms, and even the water cup for the kitties. But somehow never thought about the plate from the microwave and I also like Ms. Bake-It's idea for the light fixtures.

i like to do everything by hand...dishwashing for me is very soothing and theraputic! i don't know why! lol

excellent tips - also thanks for the reminder to put a glass tray for the microwave on my "to buy" list. the previous owner must have broken it or taken it with them when the left.

Excellent tips! You can also wash the glasses from your light fixtures or hurricane lamps in the dishwasher as well and toss in your sponges too to disinfect them.

Great ideas! I also throw the bath toys into the top rack when I have extra room because everything can use that REALLY hot cleaning every now and then.
