Slow Cooking Thursday

Who doesn't like stew when it starts getting cold out? Here is a good recipe you can throw in your crock pot and forget until it's time to eat!

Home Style Stew

2 16 ounce pkg frozen vegetables for stew
1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can tomato soup
1 envelope onion soup mix

Place vegetables in a 5 quart slow cooker. Brown beef on all sides and add to slow cooker.
Combine soups and soup mix. Pour over vegetables and meat.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is tender.

Mari,

This recipe comes in handy now that the winter weather is coming on the heels of some cooler fall weather.

Make me a batch of cornbread with honey butter and we are all set.

This will be a recipe I pass on to my kids but cannot use myself. Out of the list of ingredients I can get one: the meat. lol

I'm going to check out the Google Reader thing today! Thanks for the tip.

We love stews at our house. I have a recipe that is close to this one that I make frequently in the fall and winter.

It's time again for all those cold-weather meals! I know you're probably just as chilly over there.
