yes, summers ...
:o)
such a relief after those 40 below winter nights!!!!
Bugs and storms would so be on my list too! I hate these stinking bugs!
Ditto to everything on your list!!! (except storms...I do enjoy watching a thunderstorm now and again).
I can't imagine 40 below. I guess the coldest temperature I've experienced would be in the teens. So I probably don't look forward to summer as much as you and some of you who commented. I can't decide if our winters have warmed up, or if it's just my personal world that warmed up after I hit the 50's! I don't even remember the last time I wore a coat. I recently went through my closet and discarded coats and jackets. I've kept them till they're out of style, and I don't wear them, so they've just been taking up space.
Summer mornings in the South are nice. The birds sing and the air feels good. Later in the day can be sweltering, the air conditioners struggle. When I was young I went to our community pool most every afternoon. Summer gardens are great, too. I really admire those who are industrious and smart enough to have a good garden. Nothing tastes better than fresh vegetables right out of the garden. Making homemade ice cream is fun, too. Yum.
That about sums it up, doesn't it?
I love summer! It is my very favorite season. Normally we don't have strong storms. . . only once in a while. When we lived in Ohio, we had to take cover every time one came up. I was a nervous wreck. After moving her to PA, I don't think about storms much even though there have been a few.
I LOVE Calvin and Hobbs. Summer? not the same as when I was a kid, but still fun to watch my kids enjoy it.
I'd have to agree with about everything. I used to love storms but now, not so much!
I love the flowers and fresh veggies of summer and I'm like you I hate like the dickens to sweat and it don't take much during this menopause for me...LOL!
Enjoyed your meme!☺
Colorado weather is fabulous! Winters alot more mild that there...maybe you should move here! :-)
I agree with the dislikes. Now for the likes---I have more than five. LOL
I agree with your list 100%. I have to emphasize the total dislike of storms...a nice rain is fine, but no storms!
Great lists! I think I'll do this on my blog. Saw your profile description and wondered about a word, "deployed," which typically refers to a war zone assignment. I think maybe "stationed" is more accurate for his first job? I always enjoy your blog; thanks for your visits to mine! And yes, it's HOT here in the ATL!
Great lists & I LOVE Calvin & Hobbes!
I'm considering myself tagged :)
What fun! Here's to a bowl of fresh summer fruit!
Fireflies. Did anyone say fireflies?
I love fireflies.
One of my favorite memories of my husband, long before he was my husband, was him taking me on a surprise adventure to this rarely driven intersection in the middle of farm country that looked out upon open land... and a GAZILLION fireflies.
For a second I asked why he stopped at the intersection and didn't continue on... and then I saw them... all of them. Fireflies everywhere.
All he said was, "I know how much you like to see them in the front yard..."
Seriously? Summer is all about the fireflies friends.
super fun - i can't imagine it gets that hot there - it's like 100 here already!
