Living in Narnia

Until last week our winter had been unseasonably warm with just a little bit of snow, but then things changed in a hurry!
It started snowing Thursday around 5 pm and by Friday morning we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. By Saturday morning there was another 5 inches!
This snow was very wet and stuck to everything. If you ever saw the Narnia movie you have an idea of how things looked around here - just gorgeous!
Here's a few pictures to show you what a good West Michigan snowstorm looks like!

The view from our living room window

Our front walk - look at the snow on our lights!

Side yard

Even the clotheslines were covered.

Our little bench is nearly buried.

Pine trees in the back yard

Isn't the Japanese Maple a beauty?

Sun shining through snow covered branches

Our road

Our road again!

This is a horse farm down our road

We were amazed at the beauty that surrounded us and in awe of our God who is able to transform the landscape in such a manner!

"He spreads snow like wool and scatters frost like ashes"
Psalm 147:16

Hi Mari, These are the prettiest pictures. My husband is from MI and remembers scenes like this. The snow on your lights looks like an ice cream cone!

Your photos of these snowy scenes are brilliant. One of my favs is the one with the brick road or path. Lovely.

Wow, this is so beautiful!! Love that Japanese Maple! The brick path and the snow cone lights - wow! You can pick any one of those for next year's Christmas postcard! Love how windstill the snow fell and just stayed there on the clothes line! You have a gorgeous place!

Mari your pictures are out of this world!!! You amaze me with that camera of yours. These are so beautiful they almost take my breath away. I so appreciate how you see the beauty in everything instead of complaining about the big snow storm.

Wow look of the hight of the snow on those lights! What beautiful shots.

The weather here in the UK has turned cold too, but thankfully no snow yet, just some frost. I do love the snow but not when I have to drive around doing school runs etc.

Mari, you've had a lot more snow than we did. Friday night we got about 6 inches. It didn't look near as pretty as your photos.

Today we have rain, so won't have any snow left.

Enjoyed my visit.

Blessings,
Mary

Mari, you take the most awesome pictures! As usual you have a lot more snow then we got on the East side of MI. We don't have any at all now, but it's crazy windy!
Most of all, I love your surroundings, your home sits in such a beautiful area!

Mari, there are just beautiful! They do look like Narnia! Enjoy the beauty, out here in No. California, we've had warmth and no rain, much less snow. But they say it will change this week, so we'll see. We won't care tho, because we'll be on a cruise ship when it happens! ;)

Those are absolutely beautiful pictures! Definitely Narnia. Love the one from your window and the Japanese maple tree. You can see it was a very wet snow.

It's exquisite. Two things I love as much as just about anything in nature: rain falling and snow falling. The poignancy and beauty always touch my heart. Your pictures are wonderful and almost made me run for my coat and boots. Enjoy the gorgeousness but stay warm and safe!

Beautiful pictures! I love snow. I know it's horrible to drive in but sitting at home with a cup of hot chocolate and just looking out the window is priceless. We very rarely get snow in East Tennessee anymore. last year was a rarity. this year it has been in the 60's almost everyday so far in January.
