Friday Favorites

Every Friday, Sandra at Diary of a SAHM, hosts Friday Favorites, a place to post anything that's a favorite.
Here's my favorite for this week!

I got this little figurine when we took care of my Mom's stuff after she passed away. I'm sure it has no monetary value, but it has a lot of sentimental value.
It's something that my Mom had before I was born and I remember seeing it on a shelf when I was young. I wish I knew the story behind this or where she got it.
It now sits on my dresser with some family pictures. I love seeing this reminder of my Mom everyday!

How adorable. Isn't it funny how we can remember our mom's items sitting on a shelf? My mom had a little Italian vase that sat on a shelf by the kitchen sink for as long as I can remember. She kept her wedding rings in it when she was washing dishes!

Wishing you a great weekend.

Little things can have such precious memories attached to them....I can remember similar things that my mother had that were apart of everyday life....

Awww, that's so sweet! I have a couple of breakfast dishes my mom brought over from Germany - great memories! Another thing that's fun is to go to other relatives houses and see something of my mom's that she had gifted to them. Cool!

Very cute figurine Mari. I'm sure it makes you smile. I have a couple of items that I brought back from my Dad's after he died. I too don't know the story behind them, but it's nice to have them...a tiny part of him...and they make me smile.

Happy weekend hugs,
Kat

My mom loved cardinals. She had them everywhere in home, from beanie babies to figurines. Never do I see a cardinal and not smile, remembering her. Thanks for sharing!

Very cute. My grandmother used to unusal collect tea cups and saucers. When passed away I got one of my favorites...a teacup with a face on it and a sacuer to match. I love things like that.

Is it a Hummel? Little figurines go for quite a little bit at the auctions. It's very cute! And yes, means even more that it was your moms. :)

I can see why this is a favorite! Everything that I have that reminds me of my mom [or family]...tho, as you say has no monetary value, is priceless!!!

That's a keeper for sure. It is probably worth something but it is worth more in memories.

That is such a cute figurine Mari. Even if you don't know the meaning behind it for your mom, it certainly holds a LOT of meaning for you :)

That is really cute, Mari. I love that the bowling pin is separate! I have a few "worthless" treasures that were my grandmother's and I think of her every time I look at them, remembering that she loved them. Someday our kids and grandkids will do that with our stuff! So we need to take good care of it.

How special! I wish I had something of my mom's. She didn't want us girls to have to deal with all her "stuff" and she got rid of everything herself before going to live with my sister, shortly before she passed away from cancer over 20 years ago.
