I live on the outskirts of Grand Rapids, Michigan and I think it's a great city! It has a population of 188,00 and is the second largest city in Michigan.
The last time I was walking around in the downtown area I took some pictures to share with you so you could see our city.

There is a park downtown, along the river. This walkway is filled with pavers that have dates which are significant in Grand Rapids history.
Grand Rapids was the birthplace and home of Gerald Ford before he became president. This is his presidential museum and is also where he and Betty are buried.
This picture describes Grand Rapids well - old and new coming together in a beautiful way.
If you ever get the chance, come visit Grand Rapids!

Thank you so much for the tour of your beautiful city of Grand Rapids. I have never been but your pictures tell of it's beauty.....
What a wonderful walk thru Grand Rapids. I did not realize the Fords were buries there. I know the presidential library must be a fascinating place to visit. I know I would be camping there in my spare time. The old building are so beautiful, but I so love the old The Public Museum is also very appealing to the eye. geniePS..glad you spotted the dog...I thought it looked like a poodle :-)
I love the last picture. I too love Grand Rapids. I use to love going to school there. I would hve to run for the Police Academy and get to see a lot of the old houses and buildings. I am a little farther away but yet close enough for a day trip or night out! Thanks for the pictures!
Wow yes it looks very beautiful! That last shot is great!
It is a great city to live near!
I love Grand Rapids. We stayed there for the Princess Diana exhibit and had a wonderful time. I wish I lived in your area, it offers alot and remains so clean and pretty!
Beautiful city! I love your "reflection" pictures! I would enjoy visiting in the autumn!
Gorgeous city! Absolutely gorgeous!
I've always loved the name of your city -- always wanted to visit because of the decription.
Love the structures -- old and new. Does remind me a little of Omaha -- but our newer downtown buildings are not as stylish as yours. :)
I've never been there but it looks beautiful. I enjoyed the photos and reading a bit of the history. So nice that a green area has been preserved along the river.
Great to see where you live Mari. What a beautiful place it is.
A reminder that there are so many things to do and see there! Next furlough I must try to get there :)
