Do you ever come across a blog that is written in another language?
I sometimes get comments written in English on my blog, but when I visit the person who left it, I find I can't read the post because it's in another language. I've found sites that translate if you know the language, but I often have no idea.
Then I found this site:
http://translate.google.com/#auto|en|
This one will figure out what language it is, and will translate it to the language of your choice. It's not something I use often, but it's handy at times.
*Don't use it on the strange comments you may occasionally get in Chinese. I don't think any of us want to know what those comments say!

Mari,
I've noticed quite a few bloggers getting the family chinese characters in their blog comments and find it something that we have to delete because of links contained within the message itself that is spam.
Such a shame that people will use it for purposes other than what it was created for.

I have had some on All GODS Creatures.

Very interesting. my sister in law is from Peru, some of her FB posts in in spanish and I dont know what they say!
I was going to get a friend to translate the Chinese characters for me - but then decided to simply delete them. I've never tried their links but I trust what others have said, lol! Don't need to find everything out myself!
Good advice to check with google and yup, it works!
I have heard of that before and used it and I find that it translates but even after it has it's still hard to make sense of the broken English :(
Yup, those little Chinese characters are the reason I moderate comments on mine!
I've had a few in other languages too. Thanks for the link.
The Chinese characters left on my blogs are now caught and go into spam where they are deleted. I have checked the links. Each little dot on the string..... is a link and goes either to a real estate deals or to porn shops and videos and pictures.
You can also download and add a translation feature on your blog sidebar. I think Google has the easiest to install and seems to work the best for me.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
Hooray for you!!! And thanks for sharing the link. I'll be sure to bookmark this as I too have had 'foreign' comments. You served us well today Mari. And, I so appreciate the time you took to share it with us.
Good tip. Funny last line :)
Need any good books to read? New devotional or Bible study guide? Come see me in the store sometime. I work next week Mon, Tue and Wed. As for the rest of this week, taking the girl to college....whoa boy.
lol @ the chinese comments comment! :P
Thanks, Mari.
I love that blogger now has the option to "spam" those weird comments. I'm not longer being bothered by them which is a relief after getting at least one a day for months and months!
I love the google translate tool. it's so great.
