Colorado Cabin

Today I want to show you the wonderful cabin we stayed in for most of our time in Colorado. I found it on the internet and it exceeded our expectations! It was cute, very clean and well stocked. It had a washer and dryer, dishwasher, wi-fi and cable. It was in the mountains, away from everything so it was calm and peaceful there.

This is the driveway to the cabin.

Here are Bob and Andy sitting on the front porch. You can't see it but near the patio set was a wonderful hammock.

Here is the living area. We used the wood burning stove every night.

This place is run by a ministry that also does retreats. It's on 35 acres and they have a Prayer Trail set up on the property. As you walk around, you see verses etched onto things and other reminders of our God who created this beauty.

I saw this while walking and thought it was a pretty sight.

When you go on the prayer walk, there are 12 stops. Each one has one of these benches to sit on.

One night I was woken by some noise outside. When we got up, we saw the fence to the side of the cabin had been torn open. We were told there were bear in the area and suspect a bear came to visit!

I'll leave you with these views of the mountains from the cabin. It was a wonderful place to relax, enjoy each others company and take time to think about the glory of God.

"Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10

That is absolutely beautiful! The cabin is adorable, the scenery is breath-taking, and you had all the amenities.

The bear...I am so showing that picture to my husband. That is exactly why I do not want to camp anywhere in the west and do not want him taking my precious little children camping anywhere either. In a tent! Please! Personally, let's just invite them to dinner and say we're the main course.

Hi, my name is Kayren, and I have camping issues.

I'll stop now since I could leave a novel-sized comment.

Colorado is a gorgeous part of the country isn't it!? We are planning to move there hopefully by next summer. My parents have lived there on and off for years and have always loved it.

The part of Colorado we are interested in is called Evergreen, just gorgeous, but I'm just not sure if I can handle all of the "wildlife!" I'd love to be able to go on long walks and hikes but I don't want to always be looking around for bears! We'll see where we eventually end up!

What wonderful pictures you have shared, dear Mari. I am and will always be a mountain person, there is something about mountains that speak deeply to my heart.

Thank you for sharing! It brought so much joy to my heart just seeing the lovely views, and the cabin as well.

I am sure you had a wonderful time with the Lord, too!

Love

Mari, I've really enjoyed looking at all of your pictures. Colorado is my favorite place to visit and I really want to take the kids there in the next few years. Your pictures make me want to do sooner than later :-)

Where was the cabin located? It's beautiful.

I love the photos Mari, and the verse at the end of your post is exactly what I would come away with had I been there: a sense of stillness in my heart. Thank you for the beautiful journey this morning!

How perfect. It's so beautiful, and the cabin is so cozy. I'm afraid if I were walking their trail, my prayer would be "Lord keep the bears away-PLEASE".

Wow, what views! The cabin looks so comfy and spacious. What a wonderful place to relax. Except knowing a bear was nearby might not be conducive to relaxing!

Indeed, in that part of the country, you cannot help but be still and take it in and realize how small we are and how GREAT HE IS.
