On Tuesday morning, we were scheduled to go on an air boat ride at 9:30. However, we woke up to temps in the low 40's and a cold wind! We bundled up (Terri loaned me a sweatshirt to wear as I wasn't prepared for that cold in Florida!) and were ready to tough it out, but the air boat people called just as we were ready to go and asked if we could reschedule for 3:30 in the hopes of it being a little warmer. That sounded like a great plan to us.
We headed into Lakeland to see some things that had been closed the day before. We started at the Museum of Art, where Terri worked for many years. I was excited to see it in person as I remembered Terri's posts about it through the years.
An old suit of armor, velvet fabric from the 1500's, incredible paintings and on the bottom right are pieces of a Prince's carriage doors from the 1700's.
There was even art from Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso. There was so much more and we greatly enjoyed this stop.
Bob and I at a grotto at the gardens.
After a nice lunch, it was time to head out to the air boat. We went to Lake Kissimmee, which is the 3rd largest lake in Florida.
We got on the air boat and headed out onto the lake. We were excited to see the wildlife in the area.
And we saw several bald eagles - so majestic!
There were so many varieties of birds. It was awe inspiring to see birds of many types and sizes, flying out in front of us as we went around the lake.
We had supper at an Asian restaurant that Terri recommended, and it was delicious. This beautiful sunset at Terri's place was a lovely end to a very enjoyable day.

Dear Mari, what a splendid time you all had. Beautiful sunset, lovely photos and an adorable cow 🐄 in the lake.
Mari,
I love this soooo much!!!! I am so glad you got a good look at many gators!!! All the pictures are lovely!!! I would love to visit that garden myself.
I can't believe all that you saw in one day! That was awesome. My favorite was the cow in the lake. Love the alligators. There was so much to see. I loved the boat ride. What a wonderful trip.
What an adventure! The sunset is gorgeous! One of your birds is a Blue Heron. He is in the bottom right of the bird collage. The art is so cool. The mask is creepily beautiful.
It is fun reliving this with you, Mari. You got some great photos!! I so enjoyed having you and Bob here for that too-short visit! There is more to see when you come again! :)
Air boat must be fun but not the alligators! 😂 Florida seems to be a very nice place with many wild life .
The sunset is beautiful! Nice to see a photo of you with Bob. Hope it’s not too cold in your place!
My favorite Wildlife you saw is of course the COW! and I am now wondering if Andy may have copied MY cow drawings. HA HA.. would love to see the museum.. you came in one of our coldest spells. but still plenty of sunshine.. the air boat was a great adventure... I wonder if the gators bother the cows in the lake
Looks lovely
What a wonderful day you had to be able to see so many different parts of God's creation! I enjoyed the pictures SO much! Thank you, Mari, for sharing your pictures with us. The art museum pieces were amazing!
Hello, my friend! I am getting caught up and am enjoying this so much! Thank you for sharing all the fun and beautiful pictures. I bet you had the best time with Terri! Love your picture too!
It always amazed me that folks would raise cattle in where alligators were. My aunt in Southern Georgia raised Black Angus and I always wondered if the alligators would get any cows....and yes they did at times. But farmers were allowed to kill alligators on their property at all times. When riding down there, my cousin always told me if we saw an alligator to ride in a zig zag pattern away as it would confuse them. They can run fast on land. The art museum you saw was amazing. It amazes me that fabric from that era is still intact and di not disintegrate. The armor was cool too. So were the paintings. Glad you were able to see this in person. What a treat. Janice
It never ceases to amaze me how so many species can occupy one habitat, Mari. The air boat ride photos are wonderful. I also loved getting a peek at the amazing displays at the art museum where Terri used to work. Blessings!
That cow in the water picture is not something you see all the time! Looks like a great trip and Terri seems like a wonderful host!
Wow, you really packed a lot into one day and how interesting and fun every thing seemed to be for you.
Dave and I went on an air boat ride in Louisiana. Totally fascinating to be up close and personal to all the swamp wild life.

This looks like an awesome trip. So many things to do and see in Florida. The air boat ride sounds fun and even though the temps warmed up some, I know it was still chilly out there. I laughed at that big ol' cow out in the water. Happens a lot around here but I just wonder if the cows ever run across the gators in Florida?
That museum is amazing! And those gardens looked stunning. But the airboat really looked like fun and it's awesome how much wildlife you were able to see. I was on an airboat in the everglades with my family as a kid and I remember it being such a cool experience. What a great getaway with a wonderful friend!
What a wonderful day- the museum exhibit is fantastic! And if you wanted alligators, you certainly got alligators! The sunset is lovely.
You and Bob are looking super duper cute. Glad the gardens were open that second day. Sounds like a wonderful trip. Truly.
Wow what a great trip. Love the cow in the lake!!!
All in all a wonderful day.
Fabulous photographs from start to finish.
All the best Jan
You packed quite a lot into one day! Air boat rides are fun and glad you got to go.
What a wonderful outing that must have been!
I’m delighted you got to see so many gators up close.
The photos are all such a treat--my favorite is the cow in the water.
The sunset shot is breathtaking, and it’s lovely to see you and Bob together in the picture.
You really did see a lot of neat stuff! I have a feeling Terri is going to have to start taking reservations for people lining up to come visit! LOL. That airboat ride sounds really fun and interesting, especially for folks from up north who don't get to see alligators, etc. I like to see them from a safe distance, and we have been thankful that none ever came to live in our pond. I hope they never do, if it ever gets water again! LOL. I've enjoyed your trip stories. Thank you for sharing them with us!
The cow in the lake is awesome! What a neat sight! And boy oh boy, I'd like to have those carriage doors in my house. They're absolutely fabulous!
What a wonderful day. Can't believe how much you packed in.
The exhibit looks really interesting, and you took some great shots of the wildlife from the airboat ride .
Nice picture of you and Bob.
I've never seen a cow in the water before.
Spectacular sunset.
I think you and Bob must have slept very well that night after all that exercise and fresh air.
