As I told you yesterday, I'm sharing this Florida vacation in pieces, so I don't overwhelm you all with photos. Today I'm sharing about Lakeland, Florida. Terri lives in Lakeland and often talks about her love for her city. It was so fun for us to see places in person that she has talked about! After spending time there, we totally understand her love for the city and the area where she lives. Here's some photos of her beautiful surroundings!
I'm a fan of murals and we saw quite a few as we drove around. Here's some I was able to get photos of.
Michigan's own Detroit Tigers have their Spring training camp in Lakeland. We drove past and a game was scheduled. There was so much traffic!
We did a little shopping and then went back to Terri's place.
When Terri visited us last Summer, she helped me snip beans for supper and teased me about making her work. I told her, she could have some jobs ready for us. She didn't have anything for me to do, but Bob did a couple of simple things and now we're even! :)
It was a fun day and there is more to come!

Dear Mari, I love ❤️ murals as well and those are beautiful. I of course fell in love with the cat 🐈 😻 eyes.
The views are amazing. Sounds like you had a great time.
A great getaway! It's been 18 years since I last visited Florida.
That chapel is something else! I love the murals. The cat is my favorite, but I love the colors in the others. The mansions are amazing, and you even captured some Spanish Moss! I bet Bob was a big help.
Hi Mari! You had a really lovely vacation. So glad that you and Bob got to go to Florida to visit Terri! Blogging friends are the best!
It’s nice to be able to wear summer clothes for some time ! I enjoyed it in Dubaï Its a nice break after all the snow and cold weather that you had.
I especially love the mural of those cat eyes! I'm almost amazed at how beautiful murals can be, and admire the people who can make them like that.
that ladder is perfect, I might need one of those if I don't find a handy man.. I have been to Lakeland once, for a business meeting but just saw the interstate and offices. It really looks beautiful. the company I retired from has an office in Lakeland.. if you get on interstate whoa its busy because of Disney
I have read about Lakeland over on Terri's blog and it does sound like a wonderful city. Those murals are beautiful and wow to those palm trees. They are something we don't have over here in England. lol
Beautiful murals and buildings and the streets really look clean.
Have a nice day!
Mari, you took some great photos!! I drive by the murals and those homes so often that I don't even see them most of the time. It's nice to get a view from someone seeing them for the first time!! I am proud of my beautiful Lakeland! Missing you and Bob and he certainly helped with those two projects. I would have been hours figuring out how to assemble that ladder!! I think I owe you at least another bag of beans to snap!! :)
Awwww gorgeous pictures!!! Love the spring training baseball game! And that's our Bob, always helping out. I'm pretty sure you did some things to help out too! The murals are wonderful. xoxo 🏴☠️
Lakeland is beautiful and I do love the architecture and those murals, too, Mari. Thanks for sharing more of your recent trip there. Blessings!
Beautiful photos of such a beautiful place. It looks like you enjoyed your vacation.
I love all of those murals too. They are so bold and striking.
What a fun trip and I'm glad you were able to help Terri out a bit too. That's what friendship is all about.
I think I am going to have to check out Terri's blog too.
Love all the architecture and though we see palm trees all over our area. I like your capture of them.
Sue
Lakeland looks like a beautiful place1 I would have wanted to go to that Tiger's game!
What a beautiful area Lakeland is. And how cool that it's Spring training for a Detroit team!! I love the chores story - that's a hoot. Good job Bob on fulfilling that end of the bargain. Lol Gold star for you 🌟
Now I can see why Terri keeps telling me we need to come visit her...and the more I see, the more I think it might be a great time...not to mention just spending time with Terri, who definitely has the gift of hospitality! I have heard of the Annie Pfieffer Chapel all my life (growing up in the Methodist church, and that is a Methodist college), but I've never seen it before. Now I see why it is so well known. Wow! How nice of Bob to fix a few things for Terri while there! I know she appreciated it! Thank you for sharing all of these great pictures! I may just have to take Terri up on her invitation some day.
Really pretty art too. Funny that you put her to work. What a hoot.
A lovely town. I so loved seeing all of those palm trees. Sure hope the Tigers Spring training goes well. Janice
I like those murals.
Lakeland does look a very nice town.
All the best Jan
Oh my, what a beautiful city. Wouldn't it be wonderful to live in an area where it is so clean...no sign of litter anywhere. I enjoyed the murals also...especially the one of the cat. :) Frank Lloyed Wright has done some amazing work. There's actually one of his creations not all that far from us...Falling Waters just over the border into PA. My mother toured it and I would love to. Maybe when our son and granddaughter come down in May we could do that.
You took some very beautiful photographs down there. What about the house with the cats eyes. Was that a house? Love the green and the Palm Trees. Nice for you to help Terri.
Beautiful homes and murals, and that chapel. It looks like a lovely town.
Love the cat. What kind of building is it on?
