I've shared with you several times about visits we've made to Frederick Meijer Botanical and Sculpture Gardens in Grand Rapids. It has incredible sculptures and a variety of gardens. One thing I haven't shared with you is the Children's Garden.
Last week, we took Cassie there. Such a fun place!
Here she is at the entrance to this section.
It has a cute little door, just for kids!
There were fun things to find as we walked the trails, like this telephone tube. Cassie talked into it and a little ways away, Bob was talking back to her.
There was a maze to walk through.
There were drums to play.
And more fun statues.
Cute little houses to check out...
elevated walkways...
forts to climb in...
Swinging bridges...
and everywhere there were cement paths, they had animal footprints in them.
But according to Cassie, the very best was this big water feature!
Thankfully, we had a change of clothes along because she was soaked when we got done!
Cassie had a great time, and so did Grandpa and Grandma!
Our last stop of the day was for lunch. And then we all went home and rested!

I agree with Cassie on the best part being the water feature, Mari! :) Looks like a fun and beautiful place to explore.
What a wonderful and enchanting garden!! And such a lovely magical place for children! Thank you for sharing. It looks like the weather was perfect for your visit too.
Hi Mari! What a fun outing! Lunch looks yummy too. I love the fun things you do with your grandchildren! Have a good week. See you again soon!
I think my favorite is the next to last photo, of Bob & Cassie at the statue. Wow, she is growing up fast! And this was the perfect place to take her at this age.
What a nice place for children ! Cassie is growing so fast. The best place when it’s hot is the water one for sure!
Such a lovely place—so full of charm and adventure!
Beautiful photos as always, Mari!
She looks very happy
I was not aware they had a children's garden there. Wish I had known when my grands were little. What a fun time Cassie...and grandpa Bob had. You too although we did not see pics of yourself. Am sure you enjoyed it too. Janice
I had a great time following Cassie through this place. I would love to see it myself and I am way far past childhood... love the tiny door. what a fun outting for all 3 of you
What an amazing place for children! It looks as though Cassie was having the time of her life. She looks so grown up with her little backpack and sunglasses on. Thank you, Mari, for sharing this special time with Cassie with us.
What a special place to get to share with your little one, I remember how she was afraid to spend the night and look at her now!
Awwwww....how fun, Mari. And your little Cassie is absolutely precious & beautiful. Such fun times!! Thank you for posting these happy photos to cheer the day. ~Andrea xoxo
What a whimsical place! I would enjoy that too. Cassie is so cute. It's heartwarming to see her happy and smiling. 🌞
Did Cassie grow a year's worth in a month?!! Wow! Sure not a baby anymore! What fun and what a great place to explore!! Thanks for sharing Cassie, and some good times!!
Oh what a charming part of the gardens!! Little Annie would have loved that so much too! Cassie is so adorable and what a wonderful way to learn about nature, but have so much fun too. 🌸💚
Oh, I want to play there too. What a delightful place. Love the photos of Cassie, especially the one of her walking hand in hand with her Grandpa.
I bet you all really did "rest" when you got home.

Cassie is a beautiful girl. That looked so wonderful - but I always imagine outside as hot. Was it hot? That would deter me. It sure did look like fun though.
What a fun place. I've never seen anything like it. Love the little door.
I was smiling all the way through your lovely post.
Yes, I can see that Cassie had a great time, and so did Grandpa and Grandma!
Super photographs.
All the best Jan
What a fun day with Cassie! I think that bear statue with the boy on it used to be at Northland Mall. Does it say that anywhere? I grew up right across 8 mile from there and I remember climbing on that statue!
Next time you go, can I tag along? That looked like so much fun! And, that Cassie is a little doll.
Such a lovely garden! I really like it.
Sounds like a magical place.
I'd love to know more about what the water feature is (bviously not for swimming).
Great pictures. Cassie looks so grown up.
This was truly wonderful!
