A visit to the Children's Garden

I've shared with you several times about visits we've made to Frederick Meijer Botanical and Sculpture Gardens in Grand Rapids.  It has incredible sculptures and a variety of gardens.  One thing I haven't shared with you is the Children's Garden.
Last week, we took Cassie there.  Such a fun place!

Here she is at the entrance to this section.

It has a cute little door, just for kids!

There were fun things to find as we walked the trails, like this telephone tube.  Cassie talked into it and a little ways away, Bob was talking back to her.

There was a maze to walk through.

There were drums to play.

And more fun statues.

Cute little houses to check out...

elevated walkways...

forts to climb in...

Swinging bridges...

and everywhere there were cement paths, they had animal footprints in them.

But according to Cassie, the very best was this big water feature!

Thankfully, we had a change of clothes along because she was soaked when we got done!

Cassie had a great time, and so did Grandpa and Grandma!

Our last stop of the day was for lunch.  And then we all went home and rested!

I agree with Cassie on the best part being the water feature, Mari! :) Looks like a fun and beautiful place to explore.

I think my favorite is the next to last photo, of Bob & Cassie at the statue. Wow, she is growing up fast! And this was the perfect place to take her at this age.

What a nice place for children ! Cassie is growing so fast. The best place when it’s hot is the water one for sure!

What an amazing place for children! It looks as though Cassie was having the time of her life. She looks so grown up with her little backpack and sunglasses on. Thank you, Mari, for sharing this special time with Cassie with us.

What a special place to get to share with your little one, I remember how she was afraid to spend the night and look at her now!

Oh, I want to play there too. What a delightful place. Love the photos of Cassie, especially the one of her walking hand in hand with her Grandpa.
I bet you all really did "rest" when you got home.

Cassie is a beautiful girl. That looked so wonderful - but I always imagine outside as hot. Was it hot? That would deter me. It sure did look like fun though.

What a fun day with Cassie! I think that bear statue with the boy on it used to be at Northland Mall. Does it say that anywhere? I grew up right across 8 mile from there and I remember climbing on that statue!

Next time you go, can I tag along? That looked like so much fun! And, that Cassie is a little doll.

Sounds like a magical place.
I'd love to know more about what the water feature is (bviously not for swimming).
Great pictures. Cassie looks so grown up.
