At the end of our big snowstorm, the temperatures dropped and it was very cold for a few days, with temps dropping below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
I've seen the pictures of people blowing bubbles out in the cold and watching them freeze and I wanted to try it.
My experiment didn't work like the ones you see online. I'll show you what happened.
I found it was very hard to blow the bubble and have it sit where you want it. After several attempts, I got this one on a branch covered with snow.
But look what happened. As it started to freeze, it collapsed.
It was fun to try, and I found it wasn't as easy as those photos of frozen bubbles would lead you to believe!

Reminds me of the song "I'm forever blowing bubbles"...LOL. I've never heard of this, but then again, where we live, our bubbles won't freeze! LOL! This was very interesting and fun, and I thank you for freezing your hands off to share it with us! LOL. I wish someone was taking a picture of you blowing these bubbles and watching them freeze! That would have been a good picture! LOL. This was fun, made me smile this morning! Thank you!

Those were great photos of the bubbles as they froze and collapsed. I've never tried that here.
I think this is what my sister-in-law Nancy does. She's pretty much a professional photographer. I know she takes pictures through bubbles, and they look incredible.
I haven't heard of this before. Too bad it collapsed because it looked so pretty in the snow. Fun experiment. I recently saw someone who had made ice lanterns which looked beautiful. I thought it would be a fun thing to try although I don't think our weather would be conducive to a good outcome.

Aren't you glad you gave it a try. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm sure there are a lot of things that make it turn out exactly as you would want. Ideal temperatures and humidity, just name a couple.
Nice to give it a try... now you can say been there, done that!! I can't even think of temperatures that low anymore. Our 48 feels like 28 to me! LOL
Now, that is an exciting experiment! I think I would have tried it as well. Everything looks better and easier on the internet! Haha!
I still think you captured some wonderful pictures! Truly amazing really! And I know what those cold frozen fingers feel like - I had a few experiences with those myself in the cold snap we had as well, when I was trying to take some pictures of the cold beauty. :)
It may not be what you expected, but I still the photos are very cool!!
I love this Yes that cold freezing weather makes one try anything simply fun to stop thinking about how cold it is. Love visiitng and I am so far behind.
