Saturday was a fun day at our house! Alaina and Ruby came over for the day. We had big plans for the day and they were so excited.
My friend Catherine, from My Home and My Garden, had sent some kits for making card stock houses for the girls to make.
Catherine lives in France, and when she posted some of these little houses she made, I wondered if they could be found in the states. She's so sweet and a few days later, I got an email that she was sending some our way.
Alaina and Ruby thought it was so special that someone would send them something from France!
We put on Christmas music to be in the spirit while we did these Christmas things! And the girls started by making some cards. They wanted to thank Catherine and they had fun picking out different things to put on their cards for her. Bob joined them for a while, he was working on a carving.
After they each got two houses done, it was time to take a break for lunch.
We had macaroni and cheese for lunch. They had to help make it and said it was so good!
Here they are together. I got little fairy lights to put in them when they got them home. They were so excited to show their Dad and Mom what they made.
Thank you again Catherine. You made them so happy!

Wow, those are fantastic! I love craft projects and these houses look amazing!
What a thoughtful lady Catherine is! I love those houses and follow a lady on YouTube who has a love for the same types of villages. I want to add some to our Christmas decor next year.
Alaina and Ruby did such a nice job on their villages. So creative...and each of their personalities show in the way they decorated their houses, etc. Such a fun project!
What fun with the paper houses! That's something all ages can enjoy. Glad y'all had a good time.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings. xx
That is such a fun thing to do! How nice of Catherine to send them to you! I know Hobby Lobby has a bunch of kits for kids to make stuff but I don't think they have anything like that.
They looked very serious making those houses which are beautiful, very clever.
The girls did a great job and made beautiful memories of a very fun day and project. Thanks for including us and kudos to Catherine for her generous Christmas spirit!
That's so special and I am always impressed by how those girls throw themselves into craft projects. The Flemish architecture on those houses is gorgeous. Fantastic day's work! xoxo
Looks like more fun times at your house! :)
Oh my word - how adorable are these?? What neat kits and they did such a beautiful job on them. I love the touches they added. :) And what a brilliant idea to add the vellum to them so they can light up like real windows. What Christmas Sweeties with the most fun grandparents around! xoxo
Elegant gingerbread houses from France? What could be better than that? I love the way they turned out and the vellum in the windows looks fantastic! You are craftiest grandmother around!
