ps...reading your 'tip' blog below this....the idea of the bins are great. But, I need to find some brave soul to get in my 'fridge and clean it out!! Scrub down the walls and shelves. Oh and the door? I saw a 'frozen' fly in there...how did that get there?

One of the reading books we used in our third grade class had a whole section on Maple Sugaring. I was fascinated by it and I still am!!
For Joey and anyone else who hasn't seen this before, the buckets are used to collect sap from maple trees to make maple syrup!

That is a great sign of spring. A tasty one, too!
The buckets are hanging on the trees here at the Prairie. Schools take the children there to watch them make maple syrup. I've never been there yet. It is an unusual sight if you have never seen it.
OK call me dumb but I always thought they collected in winter! But it makes sense that it's now because I guess in spring the sap rises, haaahaha. I probably just made it worse. That's what I give for living in the South where all we get from trees is stuff to clean up in the yard. LOL xoxo
Thanks for filling me in, that's a sight you'd never see in the UK! But how does that one bucket collect it all? Do they cut into the bark there?
