This Spring we got notice that the Electric company would be moving it as they were adjusting the line in the whole area. Great news for us!
This past week it finally happened. I had to work a short morning shift and when I came home I was greeted by all kinds of trucks on the road and some equipment in the back yard.
After all the lines were disconnected, they cut the top off the pole, and then pulled the rest of it out of the ground. While they were are work in this area there was another group working to put up a new pole further down.
Here you can see the new pole in the corner of the picture. It's still in our back yard, but not in such an obvious spot.
Our power had to be out for about 2 1/2 hours while this was happening, but it was kind of fun to watch all this happen!

It's always nice when an improvement happens without any cost to us, right?
I think that spot is much better!
Surprise blessings of life are always good.....
Good to have it moved more out of sight, leaving you with more backyard to run and play in! Have a good Monday.
Seeing all of that must have made for an interesting afternoon! I'm always amazed at the men (and women) who go up in those buckets and work so high off the ground, doing such dangerous work! How wonderful to have the unsightly pole gone, and the new one in a less conspicuous spot! Hooray!
Nice! I love watching that kind of work and it's great when the power company has the responsibility for something like that. We have an easement right behind our property; it's actually an arroyo, which is like a huge concrete drainage canal which is designed to carry rainwater and snow melt from the higher ground down to the Rio Grands. They can't build anything on it and they're responsible for all its maintenance. We have a wall along there so we can't even see it but it's nice to know it's never our problem.
I always enjoy watching them work. Glad the new pole is in a better location for you.
Of course, you have a all on film.
I would of thought of my camera when the pole was on the ground. lol

Well those look like some very competent workers! And what a nice change, to have the pole pushed back. Your yard looks so nice.
