We had a great time last week. Andy was home on leave and Bob and I were on vacation.
We started out last week with a little family party celebrating Bob's birthday and Fathers Day. Yes - it was a little late, but we were waiting on Andy.
Here's Alaina - always the center of attention, even though it's not her party. :)
We had Alaina overnight last weekend. Here she is all ready for church.
It was a nice that Andy was able to spend a little time with Alaina, but she wasn't so sure about it. She's been scared of people lately, especially men. Since she hadn't seen Andy since she was 4 months old, she was pretty scared of him. Hopefully, the next time he comes home she'll be past that phase.
Something that Bob and Andy used to do every year was to go on a little camping trip. They haven't been able to do that since Andy joined the army because he never had leave during nice weather. They were finally able to go last week. They go into the National Forest and camp with no electricity or running water. (Better them than me!) This is their camp site.
You can see that they did ok cooking over a fire!
They do a lot of hiking there. This is one of the lakes they walked around. They said they had lots of fun; talking, target shooting, hiking, eating and laughing!
We also spent time with family. It was nice for Andy to see his grand parents. We had a tough thing happen in the middle of the week. We got a call that Bob's mom was in the hospital after having a stroke. It affected her right side, and there has been some improvement, but her right hand isn't doing well. She was admitted to the nursing home I work at on Saturday for rehab. Of course this isn't what she wants, but she is trying to have a good attitude about it and is working hard to get back home again.
Another thing we did while Andy was home was to have family pictures taken. They turned out well and I'll share them with you when we get them back.
Andy went back to his base on Saturday. As usual I was a little teary but I did pretty well. Now it's time to go back to our regular routine and work!

i'll be praying for Bob's mom and her road to recovery!
So glad you had good weather to enjoy Andy's home visit so he and Bob could get in some bonding time. Looks like all of you had great time. Sorry about Bob's mom and praying she will recover fully soon.
Sounds like a wonderful week! So sorry to hear about Bob's mom though. Hopefully she will have a speedy and full recovery.
Oh I'm glad you are back, I missed you!
Welcome back! Alaina is adorable!! What a love. :)
Glad you had a wonderful vacation and that Andy was able to come home and spend some quality time with the family.
Alaina's adorable as usual. I don't do camping anymore (got my fill of it as a kid) so the men can have the forest all to themselves!
