We had a great time with Andy home for the last 2 weeks. As usual, the time flew by and on Saturday we were at the airport sending him back for another 9 months.
While he was home there was lots of visiting with family and friends and good times with our own family.

Bob, Andy and Aaron went to a shooting range and really enjoyed themselves.
We went to a park for a picnic lunch and a hike.
Andy was willing to walk out on this tree trunk so I could take his picture.
We came across these tree trunks and wondered what had caused them to grow this way.

These weeks weren't good for the diet - lots of eating out!
We always have a good time when our family is all together and these weeks were no exception!

The tree trunks are pretty unusual. I found myself trying to figure it out as well.

Mar, I know this was a very special time for your family....all being together are always precious memories...A Mom loves having her chicks all around her.......Before you know it he will be back and it will be more family times together....

Ohhhhhhhhhh, how wonderful!!! I know just what you mean about the good times. But....It's so hard to see them leave again after such a super time had by all while he was home on leave.

if i can get a little deep - i'd say there is a good chance my spiritual tree trunk looks like that. moments where i should be growing up, toward God and instead i veer off course.

I'm so happy that you had an awesome time. It looked like you really enjoyed having Andy home. Dominic comes home for R&R July 1 thru July 14 and like Andy he will go back for 9 months. I will be praying for Andy's safe travel and safe tour.
So happy for you to have your son home and to get to enjoy time with him.

I can imagine the 2 weeks went by quickly. Sounds like good memories wee made. You must be very proud of your son & his service to our country.
