We haven't been able to have the girls overnight for a few weeks because of crazy work schedules and some sickness at their house. Friday night we decided that if we couldn't have them overnight, we could at least have supper with them. We picked them up and they thought McDonalds would be a great place to go. We weren't too excited about that plan and were heading for the mall, which worked out well because Alaina suddenly decided that we should eat at the mall!
Eating at the food court has the benefit of lots of places to choose from. Bob went to pick up Chinese food for the two of us, Alaina chose tacos, and Ruby wanted chicken fingers.
(Excuse the poor pictures - I had to use my phone)
While we were eating, Alaina asked Ruby if she wanted to trade some of their food. Ruby didn't want to, and Alaina said, "I just wanted to try your chicken!" I asked Ruby if she could share a little piece with Alaina, and she said yes. So, I tore a little piece off and gave it to Alaina, then told Ruby thank you for sharing with your sister. Her reply? "Well, you just grabbed it!" Funny kid!
She tried a fry too!
Ruby was ok with sharing though!
The other good thing about the food court at the mall, is the carousel! They got on it with Grandpa and first were just going to sit on the bench...
but then decided to ride a horse.
A good time was had by all!

The girls are adorable and it is always fun and surprising what they blur out. It is so good that your times with them are documented so well in your blog!
Looks like a great time! I still love riding on carousels.
They are such pretty little girls. The mall seems like a perfect place so that everyone can choose their food. Too cute about sharing! Such a pretty carousel - glad they decided to ride a horse, too.
Mari, its always a pleasure to see those two...it always brings a smile. Hope you have a beautiful day, friend.
Oh the many meals I have eaten at McDonalds over the years because that is the grand's first choice. I do enjoy their fries to be honest.lol. Such pretty girls and I know you loved your time with them.
There is nothing cooler than a carousel, except a carousel with a FROG on it!
Hi Mari, I call this "making lasting memories", there is nothing better than spending time with grandchildren. Your granddaughters are adorable. Thank you for sharing.
Have a blessed day.
Sue
The mall does answer all the situations, food and fun in one place! Love seeing those two cuties!
Great memories are made of this.
Shame on you, Grandma, for 'just grabbing the chicken'. lol
I know you and Bob enjoy those sweet girls so much! They are both so adorable. :)
xoxo
Kids are so funny, aren't they?! LOL You never know what they'll say or how they'll react.
Those two girls are just so cute!! I know you all had a great time!
They love going out with Grandpa and Grandma!! They get spoiled every time!! :)
Fun! What a nice evening out with the girls. I love seeing what you do together. You reminded me that when I was a kid, I reallllly wanted to go to this mall about an hour away that had a carousel and would beg and beg to go, but we never made it there. I think I finally went when I was about 15 years old and I still made a beeline for the carousel! I just had to ride it after all that anticipation. :)
That is so sweet! Those girls are adorable. They will grow up fast, so enjoy every minute you can. I miss picking up my granddaughters and spending time with them, and it seems like just yesterday that we did that. Now they both are nineteen years old!
I am glad they had a good time at the mall. Poor Ruby. I hope she got enough to eat. ;)
You make such wonderful opportunities for your grandgirls to have special memories, Mari. xx
What a fun outing for all of you! Glad the mall ended up being the choice of food rather than McDonald's... funny the things kids will say too :)
I love this, Mari! I agree that a food court is a great place to eat where everyone can get the food of their choice. A carousel??? That's so great! The mall at Lancaster has a children's play area at the food court which we made a lot of use of when Destiny was little. Our mall here in State College is a very sad place. So many empty stores. So few people. It feels like a funeral parlor when you walk in. We have lots of good stores on the other side of town, so the mall is suffering from that.
Tell Ruby, TG always "just grabs" my fries. Aaaaaarrrrgggghhh! xox
