Sister's Shopping Day!

Every year my 2 sisters and I plan a shopping day early in November, to get some Christmas shopping done.  We start on Friday morning and shop all day, then stay in a hotel at night and make a few stops before heading back home.  It's something we all look forward too; we have a great time together and get a lot done!

We were out all day and checked into the hotel around 8pm Here's our room, with our packages filling the beds.  We spend some time sorting packages, marking things off our list and re-packing.  Then we enjoy the evening, with lots of talking and laughter!

On Saturday we head back home and after getting some routine things done there, I like to get some wrapping done.

I do some stocking gifts for everyone, so when I start wrapping gifts, I get out lunch bags and put everyone's names on them.  Then as I wrap the stocking stuffers I can put them in the correct bag and keep them that way until the decorations are up and I can put them in the stockings.

Here's part of my gifts, ready to put under the tree in a few weeks.
I'm almost done shopping, just a few more loose ends to tie up.  It was a very productive weekend!

I remember enjoying reading about you all doing this last year, and feeling how much I would love to do the same thing. It makes me remember when my friends and I would get together and do things like this before we moved to our different parts of the country.

You are so wise to do this every year, and have fun too! You are ahead of the game for sure. Happy Monday!

Oh wise ones, I am impressed! And, to have fun with your sisters, how wonderful that must be. The icing on the cake.

I'll probably do most of mine on-line again this year. :)

Such a fun and smart way to get that holiday shopping done Mari! I bet you look forward to it every year. ;) I'm not quite that far - but I do have my Christmas cards here already to fill out. And I have started accumulating quite a few gifts - but I still have quite a few to go. Such a bustling but fun time of year!!

Blessings to you on your week ahead. xoxo

That's a great way to get a lot done at once. It's also nice way to spend time siblings ;-)

This is such a great idea and now you are nearly done to my not even starting yet. Sigh.

How wonderful!!! This always sounds like so much fun.
I'm afraid if I went shopping, I'd shop more for myself. LOL

Of course we haven't exchanged gifts we spend money on in decades. The gift of family is all we need.

And, thank you for your kind words of condolence with my SIL's unexpected passing. Much appreciated.

Oh my word you've already wrapped your presents!

I've always enjoyed reading about your shopping trip with your sisters.

Every year when you do this post I can't believe it's already time for it. You girls are great with your traditions. I'm afraid 95% of my shopping will have to be done online as I can't stand stores or crowds or walking. I've become a hermit unless I get to go outside! So "up on the housetop, click click click" takes on a whole new meaning for me. I love your wrapping paper. xoxo

Oh Mari! What fun! I love the idea of the baggies and wrapping the stocking stuffers. I just may have to do this.
