January in West Michigan

We have been getting lots of snow and have had our share of cold weather here. So far this month, we have had 13 days in a row with recordable snow fall. We have had 95 inches of snow this season and the average for a whole year is 80. We also went through a week that was very cold, with low temps below 0 degrees and high temps not above 10.
These are pictures I've taken around our house and at work. You can see the bank on our driveway. Right now we have about 15 inches of snow in our yard, so we're having to throw the snow high, to get it off the driveway. The bottom right corner shows the parking lot at our grocery store. It is bordered by piles of snow and if we get much more, I don't know where they will put it! I added the picture of Andy's truck so he can see it covered in snow.
Although I've seen enough snow for a while, I must admit that it looks pretty!

Mary, You captured some really pretty sites in the snow around your house. I don't know which is my favorite. I like the bird feeder and I like the bench. The berries are pretty too.

I wonder what kind of floods you will have when all of this snow begins to melt?

You're right Mari, it is so pretty in pictures. Living with it daily is something else though! I always worry about the elderly out in the ice and snow. I don't see a thaw coming soon, do you?

Beautiful shots! I have to admit though, you guys can keep it. LOL The little bit we get here in NE TN is enough for me. I'm more of a summer person.

I think it is pretty - I do like that it's off the roads. Now I don't have to worry quite so much about Chelsea driving in it!

I love your pictures, Mari, and they are really pretty though I know that it's not that fun to have so much snow.

Oh my, I think you win with all your snow. In northern MN they've had that much but I'm not sure about the southern part. Your pictures are awesome!

Have a happy day,
Kathi :)

I like your selection of pictures. It is beautiful but very very very cold. I love to be outside and can't to get digging, weeding and planting again. Kae

Wonderful pictures...I liked the birdhouse with it's very high snowhat, and the two little sparrows discussing when the weather is going to change...WHERE IS SPRING!!

I once lived where it snowed, when I was between being born and turning 8, in Chicago. It was sooo fun! I had little idea what it took for my parents to deal with it all...wasn't it MADE for sledding and snowballs...why scrape it away??!!

Last week I saw some beautiful trees in the muck fields. The fog was hanging and the trees looked like crystal. I think that is one of the most beautiful things when the snow just hangs on the trees and looks like glass.

I don't like winter, but you must admit there is beauty that is only seen during this season.

Brrrrrr! Oh Mari, I can't imagine! After the day we had today (see my post tonight), I'm so glad we live where we do. Brrrrr....where's my blankie? Just looking at your snow has me chilled. LOL

Hugs!
Kat

You've had TONS more snow than us, and I understand that we're having more than usual (I'm taking everyone's word for it since it's my first winter here and all). We have it packed in our parking lots too, probably not like you, and we still have it in our yard, but not 15 inches worth anymore. It's just been so stinkin' cold it doesn't melt.

I cannot believe I have to come home to that!!!!!!!!
