Christmas Celebration

Laura and Aaron came over on Christmas Eve for our family Christmas celebration. Every year I make them sit in front of the tree for a picture and they seem to be getting more resistant all the time! After a little begging I got one picture!
Aaron, Laura, Heather
.
Here is our table ready for a light supper and too many goodies!
.
Since Andy couldn't be with us this year we tried something new. When we were ready to ready the Christmas story and open gifts, we connected to the webcam. This allowed us to see and hear Andy at the same time. It was a little different but we all gathered around the computer!
Here you see Andy on the screen. The little inset picture shows us what he is seeing. We moved our camera around so he could see everyone when they opened their gifts.
.

The kids like to get something little for the pets. Cleo got the same toy from us and from Laura and Aaron!
.

Laura and Aaron gave Bob a Mario Kart game for his Wii. If you look closely you may notice the packaging is damaged. Laura said that Sophie (their dog) tried to help open it!
.
When we were about to sign off, Andy, trying to harass me said we needed a picture of the kids for this year. I'm not going to let that opportunity slide so here they are:

Aaron, Laura, Andy and Heather! Not your normal picture, but you take what you can get.
~~~
I had to work on Christmas day. It was a quiet day and I got out on time. We went to Bob's Moms house to celebrate with his family. Mom and Bob's step dad will be leaving to spend a few months in Florida so it was nice to see them before they leave.
Webcams are cool. I hope you get the real thing in 2009. God's blessings to you and yours. I'm thankful He has brought us together via blogs this year. What a cool blessing!!
It is so awesome that you got to share Christmas with Andy on the webcam. Missed you at church yesterday!! I think your work should give you every Sunday off. Jean Smith
I think of years and years ago how families would not have a webcam to share with their loved ones!! That is so cool that you got to have Andy "with you" at your party!!
You have a beautiful family, and from the looks of it...lots of yummy food to share!
I love the webcam thing! So fabulous - good for you all for being able to do that and include him. My 12 year old got the Mario Kart as well and we have been playing it quite a bit - I've won a few times. ;)
Happy Holidays!
I Love it! What a great thing technology is!
That helpful little Sophie - what a grand-dog she is. Great picture of the kids together too!
I love the picture of the four kids too. We tried the web cam a couple of times, but had issues. I guess we should try harder to get it working, since our family is so scattered.
That's cute - and you're right! Take what you can get. Technology is amazing! What they would have given for that opportunity even 50 years ago!
Happy New Year,
Jen
THAT IS REALLY COOL HOW ANDY GOT TO SPEND CHRISTMAS WITH YOU AFTER ALL. TOO BAD IT WAS IN THAT FORM, BUT AT LEAST WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY TO DO THAT SORT OF THING AND HE IS SERVING OUR COUNTRY AND ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR THAT!
Opening gifts via webcam is a familiar experience for us. The advances in technology continue to amaze me. Glad you had a fun day.
Your Christmas Eve looks delightful and the food so yummy! I would like to have a drink of that punch right now! It all looks so good!
What time of day was it where Andy is? Did he have to stay up really late to be on the web cam? I am sure that the web cam helped him through the holiday. That is so wonderful!
