Snow, snow and more snow!

What a day of weather we have had! We got about 11 inches of snow between 4 am and noon. Driving to work this morning was no fun. There was already a lot of snow on the road and minimal plowing had been done. Once I was at work we just looked outside and the snow coming down and marveled at how little we could see due to the heavy downfall combined with the wind.
We were expecting an admission today. She was coming from the hospital but her husband was driving her. About the time she was expected, we got a call from On Star. The operator said the man was stuck at the end of our road. They ended up calling the police. The police said our road was impassable so they couldn't transfer her in their car. A tow truck had to be called along with the road commission to come and plow. Our parking lot had been plowed earlier but was filled in again so our maintenance man went out and made a path out to the road with the snow blower so this patient could be wheeled in. It took a little over an hour before they finally made it into the building! This lady has a good sense of humor because she got a laugh out of that ordeal!
At this point the staff was thinking we would have to stay because we thought the afternoon staff wouldn't be able to make it in. They all made it though, and we were ready to start home.
One of the employees sons came in his four wheel drive and shoveled around our vehicles because by this time there was snow drifts up to the hoods of our cars. If he hadn't done that, we would still be stuck! I took my time and made it home safe and sound - and happy! I have the weekend off and will go back to work on Monday. Guess what - there is another storm predicted for Sunday!

And look at the snow coming down on your blog! I love it!

It is WARM down here. A yucky warm - misty, humid, drizzly, and dark. Yuck. But I think I'll take that above snow up to the hood of my car, thanks anyway. You're a brave driver! If we get an inch, that's it - no school or work for anyone hardly. Isn't that funny? :)

Merry Christmas, Mari - thanks so much for coming back around after all this time. It's good to be back, and I am glad to see that I still have a few readers. :)

Wow, sounds like fun. I wouldn't mind if you sent some of that snow my way.

Please...send this snow to Andy! My prayers went out this morning for all those who had to drive to work. I pray everyone (including my husband) is wise when it comes to shoveling the snow.

I'm so jealous! Do you know how much I love the snow??? ALOT! Of course I like it most when I get to stay home! But, I would prefer it to the dreary rainy days we have had all week. According to the weather man, it is suppose to turn colder on Sunday and we should have at least some snow showers by Christmas. I am praying for a white christmas!

I love the snow on your blog also!

The kids and I actually stayed home all day yesterday - I even had a call from Logan's doctor (he was supposed to have a follow up appointment) to see if I wanted to reschedule! Good thing I did because Mike got stuck in our driveway when he came home. He took a picture so I'll have to put it on my blog sometime soon.

The snow on your blog is so fitting. How very sweet of that gent to come shovel some snow.

And what a story of how that lady finally got to your facility. That will be told for years to come

Mari,

I'm glad your patient got through and was able to be admitted. This amount of snow certainly makes things difficult for emergency personnel.

We got about the same amount of snow as you did and more is predicted for tomorrow. The weather tonight also said snow from Monday to Wed. I'm not sure where we're going to put it all.

Take care and stay safe, cozy and warm. I'm glad you have the weekend off.

Blessings,
Mary

Driving to work in a storm like this? That is exactly why hubs and I moved from Colorado to south Texas upon retirement.

Stay warm.
Happy Holidays to you Mari.

Awwwww - - - you got snow, we got freezing rain. It is C-O-L-D now though - - - 2 at the moment.

You left me a comment and said we liked the same books, but I don't see your books listed on your profile. Just wondering which authors you like? Jan Karon? Surely you aren't also a D.E. Stevenson fan - - - most people have never even heard of her.

We are having the same, it's almost like you took a pic of our road. Stay warm!

Bless your heart, I don't know how you made it in all that snow! And it was great of the next shift to make it in. I am so glad to be retired and not to have to go out in the snow and sleet. Thanks for listening to my song. :o) Merry Christmas! Oh, I love all your snow falling. I noticed Adrienne had it too.

Wow, what a story! That's the day my in-laws flew in over here on our side. I think we had almost as much snow as you did that time.
