We're home!

We flew home on Saturday. Our flight back was quite turbulent - that plane was really bouncing around and I was glad that this wasn't my first trip! I had the cutest little boy in the seat in front of me. He was about 4 and it was his first flight. The smile he got on his face when we took off was priceless. He turned around and was talking to me through the seat division. "We are really high". Then - "I'm kind of scared." I started asking him questions and he told me he was going to Michigan to see his new baby cousin. I told him I was from Michigan, to which he replied - "I'm not, I'm an American". His Mom then told him that people from Michigan were American too. At the end of the flight he told me that if we came to Virginia we could come and "have coffee" at his house!
.
Here are 2 girls who were really happy to see their brother again!

I'm afraid they have inherited the crying gene from their Mom!
.
After the hugging and welcoming, we went to pick up our luggage and guess what? Andy's was there, ours was not! Bob and I had our things packed together in one suitcase and they didn't know where it was. They said there wasn't even a record of it being in Norfolk where we took off from! This was frightening as I had important things in it - a curling iron, makeup... you know - things you can't live without! I ended up running to Walgreen's, Saturday night to pick up a few of those items, so I didn't scare people at church on Sunday! Guess what we found in our garage on Sunday morning? Yes - our luggage. It was delivered sometime during the night. I was glad to see it back.
Thanks to all of you for praying about my knee. It did quite well and survived all the walking we did. I'm still having some problems with it and will probably have to break down and go to the Dr. You know they say nurses are the worst patients and I really am pretty bad. I'll let you know what happens with it.
Now we're home and enjoying a short time with Andy. He leaves for Korea on Tuesday morning.

The luggage situation must have been strange. That is soooo cool how they deliver it to you though. I did not know that they did that.
I am glad you had a nice trip and that little boy sounds adorable! Have a nice visit with Andy and yes, nurses or medical field people are the worst patients. You should get it checked. I was going to get my knee checked but with all the snapfitness exercises, I have not had it bother me lately. So, not sure what is up with that. I injured it years ago in softball.

WOW. Korea. I have to tell you... as a mom I'm not sure I would know how to do with that. However, I have married into a family that sent their son to Korea with teh military and when he returned... he brought with him a beautiful kind, Godly Korean girl that we now address as "sister".

You just never know what God is going to do huh?

So glad you got your luggage... and that that little boy had you for a friend on that plane. How dear.

Welcome home to Michigan. (I mean, AMerica.)

Mari,

I am so glad that Andy is home for a visit and that all went well on your flight.

I am not a good flyer. The last time I flew there was a man sitting next to me that didn't like flying either. We actually held each other's hands as the plane went through terrible turbulence. I could have kissed the ground when I got off. I've never been on a plane since and have no desire to ever be on one again. Guess that ends my dream of going to Ireland one day. I will be happy touring the US and Canada.

Blessings for a great weekend.

Korea is really not so bad, and he might even get some good "not quite right" pictures for you to blog about. Enjoy your time together and welcome home.

Glad you made it home safely, and that your luggage arrived. That's pretty cool that they brought it to you...I wish I got that kind of service when I lose my luggage! :)
Enjoy the rest of your time with Andy! :)

That would be pretty cool if in the future we have a Korean niece to welcome into the family- I hadn't thought about that!!
You're girls aren't the only ones that have inherited the crying gene- this we can all blame on mom- maybe even grandma before her.

Poor Heather, I would be in the same boat. I was holding back tears just welcoming Tori back home from Haiti in February. I can't imagine welcoming home a sibling.
Smiles!

I LOVED the story about the little boy on the plane. I laughed out loud about his comment that he was American! Cheri will have some fun with that! Watch out Bob!

I am so glad your luggage arrived. We have had that happen to us and it was delivered right away.

You better get to the doctor girl! They might be able to fix you up in a hurry!

I thought you were going to rent a car and drive home because I was so wishing you would drive by here even though I knew it would be out of the way and the timing would be bad since you have such a short time with Andy.

I know that it is so good to have that boy home. We will be praying for you on Tuesday.

Yup, I think the girls got the crying gene all the way back from their Grandma. I wonder if her mom was a crier? I like Cheri's thoughts about a Korean niece!
When will you be going to the dr? I'm sure it will be soon, right? :)

WELCOME HOME!!!! I am guessing Andy is on his way to Korea soon - think I saw that and figured after the Korean niece post or is there something I don't know - wow being the FOURTH sister sure keeps me out of the loop!

I am glad the scary flying was on your second flight or you may not have gotten home!

And losing your luggage - YIKES! I haven't had that happen yet - but I am certain it will!

I went to Europe several years ago and my luggage was lost for 2 weeks after we got home. One day I was outside and this limo pulled into our driveway (I thought the president had come to visit!) and lo and behold it was by bags. My luggage traveled much more high class than I did....sad, so sad.

Greeting from this side of Michigan/America!
I'm with your girls, I'd be sobbing too, in fact I think I feel a little tear forming just thinking about it. Family is so precious.
Your right, nurses take care of others, but not so much themselves. My girls are the same way...be a shining example and get yourself taken care of!!

i just choke up seeing anyone in a military uniform. we have an airbase close by and i see soldiers eating in restaurants and shopping in the meijers and in my heart i am so proud of them and our country. we are in a fly pattern and see huge copters flying, the kind that tanks can drive into. i just love our military. i'm glad to know i'm an american if i live here :)).
