Nurse Appreciation Week

Last week was Nurses Appreciation week. We received some lovely treats during the week. On Tuesday a massage therapist was in our building for the afternoon and each of the nurses was treated to a 15 minute massage. It was wonderful and so relaxing. On Friday we were given a nice lunch.
Here are Nancy, myself and Luci enjoying lunch together.

Just look at all this food. We had Chicken cordon bleu , green beans with bacon, redskin potatoes, crescent rolls and chocolate cake. It was delicious but we all needed doggie bags! Our job can be hectic at times and we enjoyed the special treatment! This week is Nursing Home week so we have a lot of fun planned for our residents!

I had a wonderful Mothers Day. We went to church with Laura and Aaron and had dinner at their house. Dinner was great, and spending time with them was better. I had a call from Andy, in Korea in the evening. He will find out where his permanent station will be on Thursday. He said he is still getting accustomed to the 13 hour time difference but he is doing well. He sounded a little congested and when we asked, he said the pollen is so bad that they call it the yellow dust! Hopefully it won't be that bad in his permanent location! We had a good connection this time and as you can imagine, I was thrilled to hear from him.

We were all treated by Dr H for administrative assistants day. We went to the country club for lunch and he gave us a gift card to W/W for flowers or whatever.

I was just thinking about you and hoping you got to hear from Andy..woohoo! Nothing better than that phone call when they are so far away.

Glad you had a great Mother's Day.

For anyone wondering what Shelly is talking about, I'll just say that she used to work with me and that was nursing home humor!

You guys deserve all that attention. I've always said it takes a very special person to work at a nursing home and you sure fit that bill!!

As the mother of two nurses, I can honestly say, every day should be nurses day. It takes a special calling to be a nurse, blessings on all of you!
Glad your Mother's Day was sweet - and glad to hear Andy is well, even fighting all that pollen!

What a great meal - it looks delicious. I'm glad you heard from Andy again. That time change is rough to get used to. I hope that the pollen count improves where he is permanently stationed! Tell him we say "hi" the next time he calls!

From me to you I want to say THANK YOU to you and all the other wonderful nurses in the world. Our experience living in the PICU for 51 days was better than it could have been because we were blessed with some AMAZING nurses (whom we are still friends with today).
