Retirement Dinner

You probably remember I retired in November.  The kids wanted to do something like a dinner but we decided to wait until after the holidays because it's just so busy for everyone. We had a date set in January but then one of those winter storms hit and everything was closed, so it was postponed.
We had it this week and had such a nice time!

Our girls and their families were there and so were my sisters, their husbands and my brother.  We missed Andy and Nikki but it would be a long drive from KY!  We had our own room at the restaurant which was very nice.

There was a nice assortment of food, pizza, bread sticks, chicken, veggies...

Our granddaughters were all enjoying the food.

Cassie is always happy to see her cousins

Connor wasn't too sure about all the people as he's at that age where he's scared of people,  but he was happy with his Dad.

Laura and Aaron, Alaina and Ruby on the left, Heather and Andrew, Cassie and Connor on the right.
It may have taken a while to do this but we sure enjoyed it!

Something in life worth celebrating. I believe your family knows the importance of celebrating the big and little things of life. I believe they probably learned it from your too!

Congratulations again on your retirement Mari! What a wonderful party you had even though it was postponed. Connor sure is getting big. I am counting my days now until my own retirement which will be next February. It will go by fast. Heck March is almost here already...and hopefully Spring. Am tired of Winter. Janice

What a wonderful family gathering and celebration! It is the time of year for rescheduling, isn't it?
I am a little jealous. I 'retired' unexpectedly when my dad suffered a severe stroke. Since I wasn't retirement age (late 50's) I just became unemployed. After working and earning my own money since I was 15, it was an adjustment. I planned a lot of retirement dinners and never had one of my own.
This looks a lot like what I am planning for our 50th anniversary. Even the room at our local restaurant looks very similar! I just love the grandchildren enjoying each other.

What a perfectly wonderful celebration, and for such a happy reason! I have saved that family picture for my file because it's so awesome except for Connor not smiling, hahaha! Congratulations again on your retirement, which you deserved and which marks a great achievement. I know you are missed at your work. xoxo
