Weekend fun with our girlies

Alaina and Ruby spent the night this weekend. It's been a little while since they were able to do that and we had lots of fun.

We went out for supper, then spent some time in the back yard. They still like to play on our play set.

They did a little routine for us, laughing the whole time.

They asked if I would paint their nails, then Ruby thought it would be funny to paint Bob's toenails.  He allowed one to be painted, so now he has an iridescent purple toenail!

Saturday morning we walked to the neighbors farm to check out their animals.  They have miniature ponies, a Clydesdale horse...

a donkey...

miniature highland cattle...

and more cows!  So fun to see.

When we got home, we worked on a craft that I'll share with you next week so this doesn't get too long.

Then we made lunch.

Bob impressed them by making grilled cheese sandwiches out of buns on the waffle maker.  They said they loved them!

It was a beautiful day, so we spent some time outside in the afternoon.
I snapped these pics of the girls sitting on the porch.  Here's Ruby.

And here's Alaina.
We brought them home mid afternoon, thankful for such a good time together!

Hi Mari! Yes, it looks like a wonderful weekend with the girls. It's so great that you get to spend so much time with them. Bob's a good sport to let them paint his toe nail. Painted nails are very common among boys in high school, so Bob is very "with it" and "cool." :-)

Ah, the good things in life! What fun, they need to slow the heck down and not grow up too quickly! :)

Those photos of the granddaughters on the porch are adorable. I have never thought to do that with my waffle iron to make grilled cheese. I finally caught up on reading your blog, what a wonderful trip to the Smokey Mountains you took and looking forward to seeing posts about your new grandson that is coming in August.

What a blessing to be able to have those special times with your girlies. I miss those times with ours now that they are either in college or about to go to college...not to mention the 13 hours that separate our homes.

Your girlies are growing into such beautiful young ladies.

I always love seeing the precious time spent with your sweet girls. 💕 Bob is such a good sport Lol 💜 and very clever in the kitchen! They're growing up so fast - just like my Annie. If only we could make time freeze for a just a little while.

Those girls are growing up to be lovely young ladies. Seems like last week that you were worrying about Ruby climbing on everything!! I'm pretty impressed with those grilled cheese sandwiches made in the waffle iron! My friend, Kalisa, is crazy about Highland cattle!! God bless Grandpa Bob and his purple toenail!! Maybe they turned him into a purple people eater!! :) Looking forward to the craft!!

The girls have gotten so big and beautiful.
Loved the animal pictures.
The shot of the girls painting Bob's toenail made me smile because it made me think of my two great-granddaughters who love painting their dad's toenails.

Bob's toenail! That is hilarious!! I'm surprised they were ok with painting just one, lol!

Oh Mari, those last two pictures! So precious, these sweet girls growing up in the bosom of their family and being trained and taught the truth. It's just wonderful. I save those and the one of the two of them together, for my RubyAlainaCassie file! Can't wait to add that next little nugget to the collection! So Bon can make grilled cheese sandwiches on the waffle maker with a purple iridescent toenail? That is impressive, hahaha xoxo
