Randomness!

This is a random type of post, just letting you know what's been happening here.

This farm is just around the corner from my house.

Our road

Snow!  We've had lots of it, along with bitter cold. I had a minus 9 degrees on my car temp one day last week on my way to work.  We got another 8 inches on Wednesday and were supposed to get hit again on the weekend, but it went south of us, and we just had a few flurries.

Alaina and Ruby stayed overnight Friday night.  They were very happy with this new desk in their room.  They said they were at the doctor - Ruby is the doctor taking care of a baby, and Alaina said the desk was the check in area.  Love that imagination!

Someone at work gave me a box of chocolate band-aids for Christmas.  The girls thought they were pretty fun, and tasty too.

You may have seen this on FB, but it's too sweet not to share again.  Here's what I wrote there to go along with this photo.

Alaina and Ruby are spending the night tonight. Ruby has been up to her usual shenanigans but seems to be tired and ready for bed. We tucked them into bed, first Ruby, then Alaina. As we walked back down the hall from the bedrooms, Ruby calls out:
"Hey guys" (she always calls us that way)  :)
I'm thinking this is one of her ploys to keep from going to bed.
"What, Ruby?"
"Thanks for taking care of us!"

Our hearts melted and any shenanigans were quickly forgotten! (and she went right to sleep after that!)

Sunday was a special day for our church.  Some of you that have been with me for a while know that we lost our church building when we left the denomination we were in.  Last year we were so happy to complete an office building with classrooms, but we have still been having our services at school.  We are now in the process of building a worship center which is supposed to be completed sometime this Spring.  In the meantime, we started to worship in our classroom space this Sunday.  We are broken up into smaller groups, with a screen in each room for us to listen to the message and for the music.  This first Sunday went quite well, and though we will be thrilled to be in the worship center when it's complete, this will work for a few months.
We have a tech guru who goes to our church who does a lot of video work.  He took his drone out and recorded some of the process from above.

It's exciting to see these walls going up!

Here's a shot of the whole property.  You can see the roof of our existing office and classroom space, with the new area next to it.  God has been so good to us, seeing us through each step of this process.  We sang 'Great is thy Faithfulness' this morning, and it's so true.  He is faithful.

That Ruby....she just makes me smile. So glad you are safe and warm up there. The temps here will be in the 40s tomorrow so we are very happy about that.

Minus 9??

I remember those days from when I lived in Michigan. Sometimes my hair would freeze.

Stay inside!

Love seeing the girls, and love snow, but even that is a little too much for me. I dont know how you keep going in it. So glad your worship center will be completed this spring and you can all be in the same space, but sound like for now, it is going just fine. God is faithful in all things!

I've just returned from AZ where we had lovely hot weather whilst so much of the States was suffering with bad snow!

Love what Ruby said, bless her. She maybe a little madam sometimes, but she's a sweetheart too.

Oh, Mari! Those girls are so beautiful!
We've had it VERY cold here, too.
But this morning it's 34 degrees and things are melting a bit.
I'm thankful with you for God's faithfulness to your congregation. Praying that much of your "faith" will become "sight" in this new year.

The negative temps finally broke here Mari...suppose to snow today though. Thank you for sharing, Ruby and Alaina sure can brighten any winter day, smiles.

Church went so well Sunday. We are so blessed with an amazing group of people putting it together and making it run so smoothly. And that video by Nick is amazing. ☺️

I did see that precious post on Facebook and was happy to see it again! Those two girls are so adorable and I love seeing them here and reading about your time with them. That snow looks SO cold to me. Mari, I can't imagine being outside in minus any number degrees. We have been in Florida for almost 29 years and just the thought of snow and ice makes me shudder! I'm happy for you and your church family to be building a new sanctuary! It will be interesting to watch the progress so please keep us posted!

How wonderful that the girls like their new desk, and yes their imagination is a beautiful thing for sure. "Hey guys", that's what Rylan says also. And, how sweet of Ruby for thanking "you guys". :)

Oh, your new church will be awesome! I'm happy for you.

xoxo

You're sure getting hit with the snow. But, your pictures make it all look so beautiful.

All fun stuff! Love the snow! And that Ruby is just adorable! :)
Love seeing your church being built. That's always fun to watch!

So exciting to see the building! Your grand daughters are so cute too. We don’t have chocolate bandaids, just Batman ones. 😉

Great is Thy Faithfulness would be my favorite hymn if it weren't The Old Rugged Cross. Oh wait ... haahaha, it's impossible to pick just one "favorite" hymn when so many are so wonderful. And won't it be special when your building is done.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: when it comes to the kind of weather you're having, I don't know how you do it. Just reading about it strikes fear in my heart.

I love it when children spontaneously say thank you. That's darling.

xoxo

The girls sure did love that "new" desk!

The pictures of the church area are so cool! It will be so exciting when it's all done!

Oh that Ruby! She is just the best! You never know what is next with her. She is such a sweetie.

My, my, my! The work on your church building is really coming along. It will be a great time of celebration when you get inside of it.

God is faithful! Praise the Lord!
