This past weekend was a weekend off from work for me. I needed it, because it has been so very busy there! We are short several nurses and when you are a small facility, it means lots of working for the rest. I've been working quite a few 12 hour days, and have also had several 16 hour days. On top of that, we moved into our new addition on Friday. That was supposed to be my day off, but because of the move I was at work. It's very exciting to be in the new section, and they are starting renovation of the existing part on Monday.
Because of sickness and busyness our granddaughters haven't been able to spend the night for about a month, so we were excited to have them on Friday night. Here they are, ready to work on something with me in the kitchen. I'll share more about that tomorrow. They love "helping" in the kitchen. The stools get pulled right up and Ruby is usually trying to turn on the water and play in the sink.
After we finished our project, they wanted to help Grandpa get a snack.
We had cheese and crackers once when Alaina was younger, and you know how kids are; you do it once and it's a tradition! They expect us to have it in the house for a snack now.
There was time to play a little more...
Grandpa read a bedtime story. Ruby was pretty tired here!
On Saturday they wanted to play downstairs in our family room. They took some pillows and an afghan downstairs to play with.
Ruby loves playing with this matryoshka that my sister Cheri brought back from Russia. Whenever they are playing downstairs, she finds it and looks for the baby in the middle of the doll.
They love to give each other rides on this chair that can spin.
Alaina and Ruby both made a card for a friend of mine who had surgery. Alaina spent a lot of time on hers and was pretty proud of it.
Then we went to my Dad's house so I could set up his meds for him. They were happy to see Pete the bird was there, while his owner is on a trip!
After this it was time for them to go home, and for me to get some things done. We sure had fun together though!

I know you have to be exhausted...not only working overtime, but moving in the new part of the building and having to be sure everything is in it's right place. Those two girls are just delightful. Alaina is growing up so fast, and I think she is changing a little too. Ruby is still a cutie pie from day #1. Glad you got to spend some time with them.
Good Morning, Mari. I am sorry about your heavy workload. I hope your facility can hire some additional help soon.
I always love seeing Alaina and Ruby. The card that Alaina made is amazing. I know you and Bob enjoyed their visit very much.
Hope you have a nice Monday.
Sweet as can be! All of them. I really like two photos especially...the one of the two girls with grandpa at reading time...and the other one---Ruby's giggly smile when she shows off the Russian doll. What a character she is.
Of course we all love 'em both, those girls are treasures.
Oh my goodness, I can't believe how big the girls are getting, Mari...smiles
Have a beautiful day friend.
Oh how sweet! Reminds me of when my two granddaughters were that age. I love the picture of grandpa reading the bedtime story. Ruby looks so sleepy. You have really worked some long hours. Hope things calm down some for you.
Such a heavy work schedule but how nice to have the girls.
I'm glad you were able to get some time off, Mari. It sounds like you're refreshed now. It was nice to see the girls! They're getting so big. Not much baby there anymore with Ruby, is there? And Alaina is so tall now. They're really growing. I love the photo of them reading with Bob, what a lovely moment for all of them. Hope you have a good week!
I've missed seeing the little ones. They are sheer delight for you all, and us too. :)
So many hours to work, Mari. I know you must be flat out burned out. I hope that settles down for you though.
xoxo
I do not know how you pull a 16 hr shift Mari...I only did those when I was young. I hope they find some new nurses soon. Ruby and Alaina are really growing. I know you were glad to have some time with them over the weekend.
Oh how I enjoy your adventures with those 2 little love bugs! Thanks for sharing Mari! xoxo
Love all the pictures! I love Ruby's grin when eating cheese with Grandpa. :) They were SOOO excited to get to go to Grandpa and Grandma's house, and we definitely tired out from all the excitement!
I hope that you do not have to work these long hours for long. The weekend with the girls is refreshing, I am sure. Alaina is changing in her looks. She is looking even more pretty and getting so big. Ruby is a little doll. Try to keep her that way. LOL!
I love that she loves the Mitroyshka!
Wow! You are really working long hours. I hope that will end soon and a normal schedules resumes for you. Your grandchildren are so very cute and they look like they had a whale of a time at your home.
Your granddaughters are just beautiful, Mari. I cannot believe how they have grown since I last saw pictures of them because of being away from blogging. Back then Ruby still wasn't sure about spending the nights. Alaina did a beautiful picture on the card she made for our friend. They both have such sweet smiles.
I'm glad that you are in the new section of the facility now. I have continued to pray for you after you told me about working so many long hours. I'm glad you had a weekend off and was able to rest. I wondered yesterday if you had to work the weekend.
Hope you've had a good day today.
xx

I can't believe how big those girls are getting! And their long hair just makes them look all that much older! Glad you had a fun weekend after all that extra time at work! Happy Valentine's Day! ♥
Wow you must be knackered working such long hours and having your beautiful Granddaughters to stay too. They always seem to have a wonderful time. I love crackers and cheese.
Boy, I'll say! You and Bob and those kids always seem to wring the most fun out of the simplest activities. Cheese and crackers are the BEST and an absolute MUST. It's TG's favorite snack too. And the girls' matching outfits are SO cute! Now you stop working so hard, Mari! xoxo
