Memorial Day

"Soldier, rest! thy warfare o'er,
Sleep the sleep that knows not breaking;
Dream of battled fields no more,
Days of danger, nights of waking"
Sir Walter Scott

Memorial Day is often seen as the holiday that marks the beginning of Summer, but it's so much more than that.
Thanks to all who served, and especially those who gave their lives, so I might enjoy the freedoms we have today.

What a picture it tells us, so much about why we are free.
God Have mercy on us all for our country letting them down in these last years.

I Agree. Today should be a day of gratitude more than a day of mindless fun and partying! May we never forget those who sacrificed so much for us all. Thanks for this post!

It is so much more than that - indeed!

It certainly is more than that, and I'm so grateful for all those who gave their lives for my freedoms. I am not worthy but I will always remember to be thankful for them. I hope your Memorial Day was special, my friend. And I love that poem. xoxo
