Cooking Thursday

Today's post is kind of a recipe and product review too.  I saw a product from Campbells, called Slow Cooker Sauces in the store and decided to try it.  I use my slow cooker frequently, and I figured this would make a good supper on one of the nights I worked late.

I bought the Hawaiian Luau since I had a pork roast in the freezer.  It was so easy - just pour the sauce over the roast and let it cook!  It had a nice sweet and sour type flavor; the package says with pineapple, mango and green pepper.  I wish those things were a little bigger pieces, because when it's done cooking everything just looked the same.  It was good though, very easy and the sauce only cost $2.

Hawaiian Luau Pork

2 pounds boneless pork ribs or roast
Campbells Hawaiian Luau Slow Cooking Sauce
Cooked rice

Place pork in slow cooker and pour sauce over top.  Cook on low for 10 hours.
Break or shred pork.
Serve over rice.

Sounds delicious and easy. I will have to check the sodium content to see if John can have it.

You could add pineapple chunks! Sounds great. I'm a slow-cooker enthusiast too. Thanks, Mari. xoxo

Oh Mari! Sounds so good and hearty!
Our slow-cooker is unfortunately not working at present, but I do so love popping everything in the pot and allowing it to slowly cook till suppertime - bliss!
Have a wonderfully blessed day and much love,
Kelly-Anne

I will have to look for those in the store. I'm all for easy slow-cooker meals. I often do things with canned soup and bottle marinades, just making it up as I go along.

Thanks for such a great idea Mari! I haven't seen these before - but you know I love my slow cooker too so I think these would be great to use! I would just throw in some extra veggies or something like the pineapple - like you said to give it more texture.

That is definitely an easy dish and yummy looking too. I'm going to have to see if I can find that in the grocery store here.
