Weekend Report

I had a nice weekend, hope you did too!
It has been very busy at work.  We've had several admissions, discharges and sick people.  This means crazy days and long ones too.  I didn't get out on time once this past week, and often was there an hour or two late.  I love my job but was looking forward to my weekend, which was actually a 3 day weekend!
I got laundry done, the house cleaned, did some baking and had fun too.
On Friday I did some shopping and found this:

With Spring here, I was feeling like a new purse, but I don't like to spend too much on one because then I'd feel like I had to use it forever.  I found this one at Penney's.  It was an $80 purse, but was on sale for 40% off.  Then, card carriers got another 25% off, and then I had a coupon for $10 off.  That brought it too $26.  Gotta love a bargain!
Bob and I went out for supper Friday night, then planned to get Alaina and Ruby for the night.  However, when we got to their house, Ruby took one look at me and started crying.  We sat and talked, tried again and there was more crying.  She is now 4 months and is apparently scared of people.  We decided to just take Alaina for this time.

As usual, she enjoyed her evening with Grandpa!

Saturday morning, she was ready to go a little after 7am.  I heard a little voice by my ear telling me "Grandma, I think the sun is up!"
We had fun together - she helped with the laundry and some baking.  She loves to help!

Here she is helping me make a pie.  She even helped pinch the edges of the crust!  We did some playing and read some books, then she had lunch and a nap.

We went to my Dad and stepmoms house so I could get his meds set up for him.  She had fun playing her version of marbles with them.  After that it was time for her to go home.

We had a quiet Saturday night.  Sunday was also uneventful, but I did enjoy church and Sunday school.  I appreciate a Sunday that is truly a "day of rest".

Back to work on Monday - and I'm going in at 5am.  Hope this week is a little calmer!

Glad you finally got to get a little rest and lots of fun with your 'sweetie'. She is just so cute, and her helping will go with her all her life. I love the pocketbook...looks like it will hold a lot, and very good deal too. Hope the week ahead will be good to you.

Love your new purse! And, a great bargain besides. :)

I know you so enjoy Alaina; she's a doll baby. Helping you in the kitchen, yes she will always remember. I did that with Britt and now Hunter. Rylan is quite there yet. LOL

Hope the week ahead is better for you. :)

Sounds like you had a busy week. Your purse is lovely. Just my kind of purse and a nice colour. The fact that you got it for such a bargain is always great too. I was just thinking of buying some shoes in that colour today but have been spending so much this past few months. Even though everything I bought was a bargain I have to stop buying, lol. I don't normally go on a spending spree but I need a lot of things right now. Shoes and pants are are always the hard part for me.

Your little granddaughter is so cute. Isn't it fun when they want to help? Have a wonderful week ahead. xx

Love the purse!

the sad part of our move is that I will be moving away from our grand baby :( But I keep telling myself that is why we have Skype and airplanes! :)

It is nice that you really had a day of rest!! I LOVE your new purse. I'm a purse-alholic, and also refuse to spend more than $45 (tops) for a purse that I will carry for a couple of months, then change it out and may not go back to it for 6-8 months. How nice that Alaina loves to help you! Those are memories she is storing up! Every time she pinches a pie crust, she will think of you! Such a priceless gift. Wishing you a less hectic week, this week!

Oh - brings back memories of my "crazy weeks" like that in long term care. I so hope you have a much calmer one this week!

Looks like another wonderful weekend with your sweet l'il pumpkin! It's too bad Ruby is at that age - it's so funny how they start to just know that you're not mommy. Lol It won't be long and she'll be just like Alaina and can't wait to go to Grandma's.

Happy week ahead Sweetie! xo

Awww little Ruby and separation anxiety! Dagny is a mama's girl to the maxxxx!! She loves me too but she really knows where her bread is buttered. They are so cute together, the joy just overflows. She has yet to spend the night at my house but when I read that you get Ruby overnight, I want Dagny! I think I'll set that up soon. Your new purse is great, and what an awesome bargain. Your're a bargain warrior. Alaina is a marvel as usual. Love to all! xoxo

I LOVE ALL THE compartments in your new purse. Great deal too!

Oh, that little voice in your ear so early in the morning. I would say that she could hardly wait to wake and get the day started at her grandparents. Love that girl!

Sounds like a lovely time with Alaina. I think my blood pressure went down about 10 points just reading it. :) Time with little ones is so precious. - - And WTG on the bargain price for your purse. I hate to pay full price for anything, and usually wont unless I absolutely have to.

She's really an elder sister, she's learning to do household chores that early :)

I think you got a pretty good deal with the bag.

Your purse is really nice and what a great deal! It looks like you had another lovely weekend with Alaina. I really enjoy seeing her do new things in your photos, to think she's big enough to help so much with baking already! She's growing so fast.

Wow, I love that purse and especially the DEAL!!!

We are definitely in the same shoes with Bianca as you are with Ruby. Sam says, "Sammy was never like this." But I assure him it's OKAY, and kids are all different. They're coming this weekend, and usually they go out on a date while we keep the kids, so we'll see how she does this time. Usually she gets better once they are out of sight, but the other weekend her folks kept the kids overnight and she sobbed for THREE HOURS!!

Sounds like a lovely, relaxing weekend and just what you needed after a crazy week of work!

I'm really hoping and praying that our grandkids won't be afraid of us when they see us. We Skype frequently with both kids and grandkids, but you just never know!
