Turkey time

I was driving the other day and had to stop for a couple of turkeys in the road.  They were in no hurry, and meandered across the road in front of me.  Just when I thought it was safe to go ahead, they turned around and crossed in front of me to the other side.  When they were in the middle of the road, two more came out, they turned again and finally all made it across the road.

Once they made it across, this one turned and looked at me.
"What are you looking at?"

We see turkeys here as well but I have never gotten that close. I'm glad he stayed and didn't take flight so you could get these shots.

When you said Turkey Time, I thought you were getting a jump on Thanksgiving!

We don't ever see those around here. Ringnecks in the fall. We had a stuffed one...whats that called? and I put it on top of the wall unit (years ago) and it would seem to be staring at you when you lay on the couch. Oh boy!

Buncha turkeys had you pegged for a non-confrontational type.

Fascinating, aren't they? A similar thing happened to us last autumn one of the times we were driving back and forth to the Toledo hospital my father had his heart surgery in...

Great photos, Mari!

That really is comical. Here in Lakeland, FL, we have to deal with the geese doing that to us. They are stubborn and can look at you just the way your turkey did!!

That is hilarious! I remember when a major route into Lancaster city was stopped because a mother duck and her ducklings were crossing. It was awesome to sit there and watch all these busy people having to sit and wait!
