It works!

What do you think these could be used for?

We had supper with friends recently, and she served corn on the cob. I loved the little corn holders she had, because they were made to fit together when stored. The part that goes into the cob, fits into the handle of another one. What a great idea - it takes less space, and you aren't going to stab yourself when reaching into the drawer.
I asked where she got them and she didn't remember, so I figured it was a lost cause.
Imagine my surprise when Bob brought some home from work. He found them in the kitchen department of the hardware store where he works. It pays to look around. :)
So, if you live near me, check out the hardware store for these neat gadgets!

We have a similar set. They store inside each other but look different and there were 4 sets. You know how the grocery sometimes has random things hanging in the isles? That's where i found mine ;-)

My question is: will they hold up over time? I've bought so many corn cob holders over the years and, without fail, they start breaking before they've been used half a dozen times. Corn cobs are hard, and the prongs need to be super sharp and really well welded to the part you grip with your fingers. So if these hold up, please let me know! I'll put them on my "wish list" for next year when we come to the states :)

These are wonderful! I have to see if I can find some like them! You should have posted them for Mellow Yellow Monday! :-)

We could do with some of those in the States. When we have friends to stay we tend to have barbecues a lot and my buddy often cooks corn on the cob, well actually he cooks everything, and we don't have any holders at all.

I've seen so many cute ones of these in sets. From the decorative to the whimsical. I'd prefer, tho, to cut my corn from the cob. Too much gets stuck in my teeth. LOL

Love the bright yellow, your husband did good in choosing if you want my opinion.

What a great idea! We eat a lot of corn on the cob so I have several sets of holders, but not some as neat as these.

Hugs,
Kat

It's about time someone came up with this idea! It's dangerous to put the old ones in a drawer only to be stabbed by one of those prongs! I've put mine in a little plastic container, but this is far nicer, thanks for the tip!

Corn on the cob holders are one of the greatest inventions of all time. These are particularly cute. Now my mouth is watering. Where did I leave that butter and salt ...
