Stockpiling

A little while ago, I posted here about a blog I was following that was helping me save money on my groceries and also build a stockpile of great deals.
I've been doing great!

This is the bookcase I used to store my stuff in. As you can see, I still have some there, but I needed more space, so Bob fixed up a spot for me.
Our laundry area is in our basement. He finished off the room by putting up a wall, hanging drywall and painting. It makes it so much nicer to use, and with the shelves it's much easier to find things.
Here is the finished project:

He put up these shelves on one wall.

Against the other wall are the washer, dryer and freezer.
Didn't he do a great job?

Here's the stockpile. All of this was bought for a great price. For example, all of the cereal cost between 50 cents and one dollar a box.
Using the stockpile has really reduced our grocery bill, plus it's handy to have available.
These bargains also make it easier to give to your local food pantry or others who are need some help.

Stockpiling is a good thing unless you go over board, than you become a pack rat(that's Us) or even worse a hoarder.

You're right Mike! I have things arranged by expiration date, and won't fill up more than the shelves.
Usually I tend to be a thrower, not a saver so I should be ok!

Wow, that's really awesome, Mari. I didn't think stores let you use two coupons for 1 item (store coupon/mfg coupon). Maybe it's just in your area.

Bob did a great job on your storage shelves. How handy!

I have a pantry too. It is nice to have extra items on hand for ourselves as well as others.
Bob did a good job.

Wow! Send Bob over here! My little shelves are about full, so Mike said I have to stop buying stuff. I'd like to know where you got all your laundy detergent, I never seem to find it on sale!

Mari, that is really amazing. WOW! I was just buying Juan cereal tonight (he goes thru about 2 boxes a week) and that stuff is like $4 a box! Holy cow! I love that you are able to do this and help yourselves and others.
I admire you!

I think it's a great idea to stockpile...especially since you can group according to the expiration date too. Wise thinking, Mari!

That's great, Mari! And it looks nice, too. :)

My stockpile is crammed into a smaller closet. So sometimes it is hard to keep it organized. Especially when the kids help put things away. But it sure is nice to have!

That looks like a bunch of good groceries. Your Bob sure is handy. GREAT deals, too! I never even try. I am not very good at stockpiling.

What a wonderful job he did on the shelves for you.
I have never seen laundry soap so cheap that you can stock pile it.
Have a great day.

I wish I had a place in this house to put some stockpiling. I have no room for what I have. I think it is wonderful that you have a place to do this and that you give to people in need.

This is so great ! It's almost like your own little aisle at the grocery store !!

I need to show this too Mark. I just don't know where we would put it. Our entire basement is finished except for a small mechanical room that Mark has taken over with his hunting stuff. However I do have a chest freezer in there but I mostly use the extra frezer in the garage because when I go to put stuff in the chest freezer I have to clear Mark's "stuff" off of it first. Drives me buggy.

Ahhhh, seeing those photos made me nostalgic for my own little "pantry" back in the parsonage. Ivan did the same thing for me in the basement and it helped tremendously. Don't have the space right now, but you can bet I've got a pantry included in the floor plans of the new place :) Bob did a fabulous job! And you've done a great job, too, organizing everything so neatly.
