My sister Cheri, and I have been wanting to get together and make some freezer meals for a while, but we haven't been able to come up with a day that worked for both of us.
Last week, we finally did it!
Last week, we finally did it!
Here's my freezer when the day was done. This picture doesn't show it well, but we both ended up with 13 meals in the freezer! This included several chicken dishes, meatloaf, BBQ Pork, Italian Roast beef, crockpot lasagne and Beef Rigatoni.
We are excited to try some of these out, and it'll be so nice to have these available for busy days!

WOW! Those sound fabulous! That's a great accomplishment. I know you'll enjoy. Have a great week. Blessings, SusanD
That would be fun if you could do it someone else (like you did).
I would love to do that as well. There's nothing like having quick homemade, yummy meals. Plus, how fun for you and your sis.
I'd love to do that together with someone too! That would be awesome! Your freezer looks well stocked!
13 meals, fantastic! Don't you just love productive days!
i would love to do this. it will be nice to not worry about cooking for a while. i see those 'smart ones' in there too. i have those in my freezer, but they don't seem to make me any smarter or skinnier! maybe it's the cookies that i'm eating, ya think?
What a lovely idea!
You, your sister and me...we like to do this. It so saves time.
Now, about that crock pot Lasagna....that sounds yummy about right now.
Well heck, they ALL sound delicious.
That is a great idea! Now you get home to a tasty wholesome meal rather than a quick fix.
So productive! Good job.
My friend and I keep saying the say thing. Just need to make the time to actually DO it! Good for you!
AWESOME! One of these days I plan on giving it a try.....
Now that's using your noggin!
Lately I've been dreading making dinner, this would give a wonderful break to the "what am I going to make?" syndrom.
You and your sis are two smart gals!
So, how much laughing went on during this process?
That's great! It's nice that you have your sister there to prepare with. It makes the time go so much faster. I haven't done any freezer meal prep in probably six or seven years. That's a long time!
Well, I take that back. I do prepare marinated chicken in bulk, but I don't really think that's quite the same. :)
Will you and your sister come to my house.....Those meals look wonderful and boy are they going to come in handy.....
Have a great week....
Funny you post about this subject! Yesterday I was talking to my DIL about doing this very thing. I told her I used to do it when my boys were young. She really liked the idea so we are going to try and do this once a month. I am also trying to teach her how beneficial weekly menus are.
I bet you and your sister had a lot of fun!

You are so organized! I'm just jealous, lol!
Can't wait to hear how they taste! And then of course, I hope you will share the recipes!!
One of the first times I visited your blog you had done this. You shared the recipe for Pasta e Fagioli at the time and I've been making it ever since.
I'm sure that work was much more fun with your sister and it feels great to have all of those things at your fingertips on a busy day.
I used to do the once-a-month cooking quite often and it was SOOOO nice to have a home cooked meal ready to go at the end of a crazy busy day. Your "menu" sounds fantastic!
I did the once a month cooking a couple of times and we really enjoyed it. It was so nice to just thaw out a main dish, add a side or salad and it was done. Love it.
Awesome! I think it would be great to do that! I've wanted to but I had no room to store the food, but I just bought a chest freezer (literally 5 minutes ago), so now I'd have the room!
i look forward to trying some of the recipes! (you are posting some for cooking thursdays right??)
That is a great idea. Renee does that with her sister too. You can have an awesome visit and laughs with your Sister while you are productive in making life easier in the future.
