Works for me Wednesday

I've been married almost 27 years and in all that time I haven't found a really good way to store my spices. Until now! I don't like the clutter of having them out on my counter in a spice rack, I also don't like them all on a shelf. I've been keeping them in a tupperware container that I can pull out, but it sometimes takes a while to find the right one that way. Heather found this spice stack in a magazine and said it looked like what I needed. I ordered it and she was right!

It holds 27 full of 54 half size bottles. You don't half to pull it off the shelf to get your spice bottle out, you just slide out the shelve and tilt down. The spice names are right in front of you.

Here is one of the shelves pulled out so you can see what it looks like open. This comes from Taste of Home magazine on line shopping. Go here if you want to check it out for yourself. It really does work for me. For more tips, visit Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer.

this looks so cool, I have to just throw mine back and shut the door quickly. Your way is definately better.

That looks great!! Mine are all in a drawer, it needs racks in it. I have them alphabetized but they are still a mess.

What a great idea! I have a spinning spice rack that I like but this seems like it would be so much more efficient...and best of all...you wouldn't even need to pour the spices out of their original container!

I just love Taste of Home!

This is a nifty little spice rack! I have all of mine in a drawer and alphabetized. But this is definitely a good option.

Wow! That is nifty neato coolrific! :) Are there any FATTER spaces for the big tubs of garlic salt and onion powder?

You mean a shoe box isn't efficient? Wow, do I need this!

That is really great. I have specific built in spots in my pantry that work well- but this is a great option too!

That rack sure would help knowing what I have so I don't keep buying new, spices are expensive! Thanks Mari:)Take care,Patty

I love this spice container. Problem is... I only have 3 spices. (Of which salt and pepper are included)

This is why recipes are always overwhelming to me. I know there is always one ingredient that I do not have... a spice.

For those of you that have spices... this certainly seems like it would WORK!!!

Great find Heather... and Mari.

Hi Mari, you've been tagged. Come see me at my tagged post for today.

Oh my...that's awesome! I too hate that every time I bake (which isn't that often) I have to pull out 5 of them before getting to the one I need. Make my "love" (not) of baking even more painful at times! That's an awesome thing!

Ooh, I need that

I've seen this pictured before, but not like where you show us it in actual use. Thank you. I have most of my spices in the Tupperware spice containers that I got back in the late 1980's, and I just aged myself significantly. That said, we'll be moving soon (out of state), and many of my spices will be in need of replacement, so maybe it's time to sell the Tupperware at a garage sale and just go with the containers they come in and this handy shelf you have. I really do like it. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a winner. I have been using a double shelf lazy susan for years which also works well, but this is a great option!

Terri said...

That is a great idea. Mine are just on round lazy susan's in the cupboard. Can you fit the bigger ones in it too?

Sandra said...

That is SUCH a great idea, I need something like this in my kitchen too.

Mari said...

For those that asked - You can't fit bigger containers in, only the regular size. Most of my spices are in the regular containers though.

You were right where we live! What a small world. My husband is retiring from a 20 year career. Looks like Detroit is our final stop...just found out today actually...sometime between August and October when we iron out the details. Thanks for stopping by too!

This is pretty cool. Currently I do not have any type of system for my spices. We hope to remodel our kitchen this year so this will be a great addition. Thanks for your tip!
