How's that kitchen coming?

It's time for another update on the kitchen. It seems it is taking forever! I told Bob we need to take a few days of vacation just to work on this, but he can't do that with such short notice. We do keep making progress though, just a little at a time.
We painted the Dining room area last week and we are happy with how it looks. I intentionally didn't show you the color - you'll have to wait for that!
.
The cabinet area is looking like more of a mess. Bob took all the doors and drawer fronts off, so he could clean and sand them to get ready for painting. Now I'll have to put up with open cabinets until we get everything painted. Soon I'll have to empty them out, so I guess right now I'm happy to have them available!
.
Here is Bob, out in his shop, cleaning and sanding the doors. He did get that all done, so we are ready for priming and painting. After that comes, the painting of the kitchen area, followed by the counter top and flooring. I'll update again when I have more to show.

We remodeled our kitchen a couple of years ago. It ended up being about a two-year project. (Things always take longer than you think when you have little kids!) I laughed when I saw your cupboards without doors. I went for almost a year with no doors on my cupboards!! You'll love it when it's all finished!!

Mari,

I don't feel so alone with the mess we have in our upstairs bathroom just knowing that someone else is renovating as well. Yours is miraculously clean compared to mine. We have horse hair plaster dust everywhere. Your kitchen is going to look great when you're done and I'm looking forward to seeing your living room photos as well.

The raccons were so cute and that Mama coon is just a year old. She is a good mother and I love watching her with her kits.

She is a tidy raccoon. She visits our garbage every night but never makes a mess. Her mother didn't either. I think she must have died. She was very large - around 30 pounds I would guess, and was here when we moved in. I guess they are city raccoons because when I was a kid, our country raccoons were more destructive.

Take care and enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Mary

Moving along slowly but surely. I remember how I felt when we started remodeling our house room by room. Our house fire allowed us to get it all done at once ;) but I wouldn't want you to have to go through that.

It will be done soon.

Redecorating is a lot of fun but the process is not always great is it? Just remember the end result will be worth it :)

Just a bit jealous...of the finished project, not the work.

Looks like you have been busy. Keep up the good work and you will be in such an awe when you are finished. Great satisfaction that you guys did it and it will look great. Looking forward to your pics. Bob does have a nice workshop. I almost bought one of those handy handle paint holders too. I should get one.

I think you should leave it without doors - just think how much time would be saved by not having to open them... :)

I can't wait to see how it all comes together but I'm sure that pales in comparason to how YOU can't wait for it!
