Slow Cooking Thursday

The recipe I'm sharing with you today isn't technically a slow cooker recipe, but because I do use the Slow Cooker with it and it's a favorite at my house, I'm going to share it. This is my Sloppy Joe recipe. It's really easy, and it makes the best sloppy joes I've had. This is a regular Sunday night supper at our house. It works great for me to make on Saturday, then heat in the crock pot on Sunday afternoon for supper.

Sloppy Joe
2 pound hamburger, browned and drained
1/2 cup chopped onion, optional

4 tablespoons corn starch
2 teaspoons salt
4 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons vinegar

1 cup water
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 cup catsup

2 tablespoons mustard

Put browned hamburg and onions in bowl (I use my slow cooker crock) and microwave on high until hot. Add cornstarch, salt and sugar and stir together. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir together. Microwave on high for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens. This recipe reheats well, so may be refrigerated for later use or just place on low in slow cooker to keep warm.

You know I was watching a kid's movie with H-Bear recently and the kids in the movie ate sloppy joes and I thought, I need to make that for the blessings sometime. What perfect timing!
I hope all is well with you! How many more days until your trip?
I am also loving keeping up with all your niece's adventures!
Sweet blessings Mari!
P.S. We are in the midst of a BLIZZARD!Ugh!

I think I told you a while back that I just bought myself a brand new crock pot? Well yesterday I made some shredded bbq chicken and when I took it out to use, my husband noticed a HUMONGOUS dent on the side of it.

One of my caring and selfless children cleared the dishwasher and when something didn't fit in the cupboard, slammed it shut into my crock pot!

eeeewwwweeee I am seething irritated.

This sounds fabulous! I've always wondered how to make sloppy joes from scratch instead of with the Manwich stuff. I like knowing what's in the "Stuff"!

Hay Mari. Seems like I saw a crock pot recipe for barbecue beef on your blog once. I might be mistaken. If you have one, could you pass it on to me? Thanks!
