Carvings and a giveaway!

Bob's been busy doing some commissioned carvings for people, and has also done some for a craft fair. When I've posted his carvings here in the past, people have asked me to post some he is selling, so I decided this is the time. I have a selection of his carvings posted. No two are alike, and I hope you enjoy them.
Because it's the end of the year, the prices are marked down! The sale price is shown; there would be a shipping cost added.

Here are some "Light bulb heads". These ornaments are each 2 1/2 " tall and come in blue, green and red. Each face is different. They are $5 each or 3 for $12.

This Santa head comes with the display hook. I think he is kind of classy looking.

Here is a view that shows the way he is displayed better. He is 10" tall and his cost is $25.

This one is called "Skinny Santa". He is 7" tall and costs $20.

Isn't this a cheery St. Nick? His name is "Happy Santa" and he is 6 1/2" tall.

I love the way he looks with his hands in his pockets. He costs $25.

The picture of this guy doesn't do him justice. He is so cute!
His name is "Big Red".

He is nearly as wide as he is tall. He measures 5 1/4" tall by 3 3/4" wide!
His cost is $25.

How do you feel about pirates? This one has a lot of character!
He is 8 1/2" tall.

Here's a close-up so you can see his gold tooth and earring.
He costs $35.

This electrician has zapped himself! The brass nameplate says "Shocking". He is 9 1/4" tall and he costs $50.

Do you know any Firemen that would like an unique gift for Christmas? This is an old time Firefighter. You can see him looking up, probably at the top of a building, planning how he's going to fight this fire.

This shows a few details of his head and chest. He is 10".

I wanted you to see the cobblestone street he is standing on. His cost is $50.

Last, but not least is this old time St Nickolaus. He's got his knapsack thrown over his back and his staff to help him walk.
He is valued at $30 and is going to be given away to one of my readers.

A few more carvings

A few weeks ago I shared some of the carvings Bob was working on. I thought I would show you the finished product of one of them along with another one that he recently finished.

This is the picture I showed you of the pirate bust, he was working on.

And here it is, completely done. He now has a gold earring and a gold tooth.

I love the the way the belts look!

This is his latest project. This fireman is from the 1930's. When I look at his face, I can almost see him thinking about how he is going to fight this fire!

Bob always adds some great details. I think this base really looks like an old cobblestone street!

When I showed you the carvings a few weeks ago, I said I would share the latest project Bob was working on. Well - now I'm going to. In tomorrows post I'll share what he made for me!

Bob's been carving again!

Bob loves to carve but doesn't do too much of it in the summer, as he spends a lot of his free time working outside on the flowers.
The last few weeks he's been picking up his tools again, and I thought I would share what he's working on.

This is one of the Serta Sheep. He needs his eyes finished and then a paint job. Do you see the golf tee legs?

I think this is a pretty cute pirate! Bob has started painting him, but it takes a while to get all the shadows and different layers of color done.

Here's a little detail of the back of the scarf.

This one is done. The name on the stand is "Shocking". It's an electrician who has just received a shock from that frayed wire he's holding.

I love the tool holder, filled with his tools!
Bob is also finishing a big project, something for me that I can't wait to show you!

Bob's little fans

Bob spent an extra day with us at the camp ground, before going back to work. He decided to do a little carving while he was sitting around.

Here he is, working a little man.

He wears a Kevlar glove, while he is carving to protect his fingers. You can see the man taking shape, but without a face.

This little guy is from the Revolutionary times. Take note of the 3 corner hat and the ponytail.

You can see the front of him here. He is almost done and ready to be painted.

The girls were quite interested in this. They would be out on a bike ride, then stop by to see how the carving was going. I know Bob enjoyed having them around and he had some fun conversations with them too!

Here's the latest -

Carvings, that is. I had to show you Bob's latest work. I need to work on my photography though - It's hard to get a decent close up shot with good lighting. Anyway - these are 2 carvings Bob's sister commissioned him to do. She works for 2 lawyers and never knows what to get them for Christmas. One is a golfer, the other one enjoys hiking. She e-mailed Bob a few pictures to work from so these resemble the guys who are going to get them.

He is looking to see where his golf ball went and it is still on the ground!



Here is the hiker.

I am impressed by the details on these. There are folds in the clothing and the hiker even has a grid on the bottom of his hiking boots. I think every carving he does is a little better than the one before.
