A Day in my Life, December

Yes, it's true!  December is here!
Here's how the first day of December went for me.

December 1 was a Thursday, a work day for me.  I was up around 6, walked on the treadmill, did a little of my Bible study, got ready and headed to work at about 7:40.
It was a cloudy morning, and the shorter days are showing on my drive as it's just starting to get light as I'm driving.

All the snow we had a few weeks ago has melted and it's looking kind of drab.

I got to work about 8:15. This is the staff entrance to the office.

I set out this sign and little tree on the window sill to add a little Christmas to the office.

I got to switch my photo calendar to the new month.  I enjoy seeing these new pictures every month.

The sun came out mid-morning, which is always a nice thing!
My job on this day was handling the in basket.  That's something on the computer system where patient advice requests come in, lab results that need to be called to people come and lots of messages from our doctors asking to set up referrals, call someone, find something, fax paperwork...  Of course, I also phone calls to answer and they were plentiful on this day.  We also had some inspectors come in and test our fire alarm system so it was a bit noisy!
It was a good day though and we were able to leave a little after 5.

The short days are really obvious when I leave work and it's already getting dark.

It was a pretty drive home.

Back in my town, I found these farmers out in the field, attempting to harvest the last of the corn.

I even got to see a few Christmas lights as I drove home.

I got home a little before 6, as I had stopped to get gas.
Bob was working late, so I made lunches for the next day, cleaned up around the house a little and heated some leftovers for supper.
Bob got home a little before 8.
I relaxed and checked out your blogs.

Then I got to work on my Christmas cards.  I have them nearly done and will be heading to the Post office this week.  Feels good to have another job crossed off my list!
I headed for bed a little after 11.  It was another good day!

You must be incredibally organized to get all these different things done at work. My favorite here is the gorgeous sunset!

The sunset is beautiful yet peaceful to look at. The scenes are not as dazzling as autumn ones but still pleasant in winter.

The time shift has its plusses I guess...sky shots have beauty and nighttime brings on the lights making a whole different scene.

I used to love driving to work in the dark for some reason! Not so much on the way home though! It will only be a few more weeks and then the days will slowly start to get longer!

And as usual you get more done in a day than the next ten people anyone will meet! What a pretty sunset you had. Good job with those Christmas cards ... mine are ready to address and I'll have it done this week too! Plus all the presents will be bought and wrapped. xoxo

Oh Mari, now I feel guilty. On Sunday I had wanted to sit down and write out Christmas cards but didn't get around to it. Not today either:(
