This is a 4 acre field, planted full of poppies and wild flowers that bees love. The owners of the field have a blueberry farm, but they set aside this field to fill with poppies in memory of their son who committed suicide after serving in Afghanistan and developing PTSD. Their son was a bee keeper who also worked on the farm.
I was excited to see it, and took Heather along to enjoy the beauty! There are pine trees surrounding the field, so when you walk up, you go through the trees and are treated to this amazing sight!
It's amazing to see this many flowers covering such a large area.

I love poppies and this field of poppies is very beautiful. I love all the different colours. It's a sad story about the couple son and I pray that seeing the beauty of the flowers and knowing the joy it brings others will give them some comfort.
Oh, that sign...my heart!
Sad to know the reason for the fliwers in the field, but, oh so beautiful! The blue flowers look like bachelor buttons?
Your pictures are stunning. So sad about their son but an amazing way to honor his memory. I'm glad Heather could join you for this outing.
A beautiful memorial to their son.
Hootin' Anni - yes they are bachelors buttons!

What a beautiful memorial, it touches your heart with the love his parents feel for their dear son. May God bless his soul.

Oh my goodness, I would love to see that field. How sweet of your friend to let you know about this. I am so sorry for the loss of their son.
Those are great pictures. so beautiful! How do you get the border around the picture?
A field of flowers! It's so pretty! What a sad thing to happen to their son.
I loved looking at the pictures of your last week of vacation. Oh, it looks like you all had lots of fun.
Wow, I can just imagine walking through the trees to this spectacular sight! I just love that they did such a beautiful thing in memory of their precious son. My friend who had originally posted the story on FB had lost her brother due to suicide, so a story like this was especially meaningful to her.
That sister of mine, always on top of stuff ☺ Wow what beauty!! Surely would be something to see and I'm glad you could. Thanks for sharing!
What a lovely tribute to their son. I bet that field of poppies was an amazing sight.
