Nativity Set

My daughter Laura made a nativity set for her family this year.  I think it's so sweet and I wanted to share it with you.

She made it with 25 pieces, so every day in December another piece gets put out, and on the 25th, baby Jesus is put in the manger.

This picture was taken on the 6th, so there are 6 pieces out; the stable, Mary and Joseph, an angel, a donkey and a sheep.
Each piece is made from a wood peg, or a wooden ball with the features painted on.

She took out the other pieces so I could share them with you.

The angel

 more sheep

 there are even some chickens!

The wise men.  Can you see the camels behind them?
I forgot to get a pic of the shepherds...

a few more animals; a goat, a donkey, and a watusi cow!  And baby Jesus is in the manger.

Isn't it sweet?  I love how she painted everything, I love that a new piece comes every night and I love that it's kid friendly.

I love that! I am now wondering if she painted already made pieces or if she did all the design, cutting and painting. That is one of the coolest nativities I have seen. What an awesome gift from your daughter!

It is adorable and I love the fact that you add to it each day and Jesus on Christmas. I can see building it each year becoming a wonderful family tradition and a nice way to tell children the amazing story of our Lord's birth.

Oh my, Mari, what a treasure Laura has made. She is such a wonderful mommy...the way she sews for the girls and does so many things that a lot of moms (even Christian moms) these days don't make the effort. You and Bob have raised both your girls to be wonderful caring adults.
